Campsite 6, Bills Hill, has been improved to give you more choices to pitch you tent. This is a wilderness site, just a fire pit, sits on a ridge top in the forest, check it out. TIRED OF NOISEY OVER CROWDED CAMP GROUNDS, we’ll give us a try! 1855 Campground is a private natural preserve, dedicated to fostering the natural Ozark experience.   We border the National Forest!! Come enjoy the outdoors at its bests!  This nature space offers seven large campsites generously spaced to provide privacy and the ability to become one with nature. I offer 4 campsites that provides the experience in camping in the woods. Site 1, Little Brushy Creek. Site 3, Bills Hill. Site 6, Hidden Hollow, and site 7, Roberts Mountain. Shuttle service of your camping gear to your campsite is available for free upon request. This land borders the Mark Twain National Forest, so hiking is abundant and encouraged and being far away from the city this area is ideal for star gazing and planet photography. There is on-site fresh spring water flowing all year round.  Enjoy fishing, swimming, or just hanging out at the pond or in the babbling brook that runs alongside the prosperity. Itzawayzback Farm

Half way between Salem and Eminence, in the heart of the missouri ozarks is itzawayzback farm. .  We  are conveniently located near the  upper current river and the ozark national scenic riverway where many come to float or paddle. In addition to the river, there are many other nearby things to see and do- Echo Bluff State park, Current River State Park, Montauk trout park, the wild horses of Shannon county, Alley Spring and Mill as well as other cave/rock/water attractions. Our location is also great for dark sky viewing.  Horse back riding (rental) is also available nearby. The area is truly an outdoor lovers paradise.      The Dogwood cabin is a hand built, tiny cabin (204 sf) perched on the glades of Conway hollow.  If you have ever wanted to experience tiny house living or life on a small homestead, this cabin is for you.  This is a grid tied solar cabin with a single conventional outlet, poor or no cell phone coverage or tv's. There are, however, usb ports in  the cabin for your gadgets but  wifi access is weather permitting and much slower than in most places! Everything but food and drink are provided for you! All linens, soaps, shampoos,  dishes and utensils are provided. There is a small fridge, microwave and coffee pot in cabin as well as indoor bathroom/shower. There is a queen bed in the loft and full size day bed on main floor.  Charcoal grill on deck with  nearby fire pit  /grill  A reasonable amount of charcoal and firewood, downfall is free and extra wood can be purchased for $10 an arm load. All you need to do is bring food and drink! Farm fresh eggs (seasonal) and breakfast basics (pancake mix, oatmeal, eggs)  are provided Although, we are very rural  there  is a small convenience store/ canoe kayak rental  1.5 miles away. Come enjoy all the beauty that the local area (Shannon county and the Ozark National Scenic Riverways has to offer then retreat to the cozy cabin and the quiet of the forest.  we are MJ friendly Ask about use of outdoor kitchen or hot fresh breakfast options NO RUNNING WATER FROM 10/16-4/30 awd or 4wd is recommended 4 people can be in cabin - we are a working/growing farm with a working dog and other animals. Williams Camp : Eleven Point River

You'll have a private place of your own, with access to some of Missouri states most hidden springs, rivers, waterfalls, fishing, hunting, hiking, (some of the best) horseback riding trails, and historic landmarks.  Rather you're after solitude or sport, this area has you covered.  Kayak, canoe, and shuttle rental, service is available at hufstedlers.com and is a short 11.5 mile drive.  Beautiful eleven point river offers blue, red, and white ribbon, spring fed trout/walleye water.  If you're looking to float the river, be sure to research the many springs on the way down your trip and the historic mill communities that once flourished there.  These are perfect opportunities to take a break, eat a meal, and explore the area.  Most also will have public bathrooms.  Unless there are multiple reservations, you will be allowed to hookup/stay at whichever site is the easiest for you to get parked at.  Maps of the area and things to do will continue to be updated as they are developed.  In the mean time, a great resource is MissouriScenicRivers.com. We do not live near this site so this is an exclusively non-hosted listing.

About

Welcome to Floater's Paradise, also known as the ONSR, in south-central Missouri. It's home to some of the largest springs in the United States (springs of gushing water, not springs that make comfy mattresses). Tourists can take advantage of the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers' lazy, meandering movements to enjoy the great outdoors.

Several outfitters rent canoes, kayaks, and boats for you and your family to float the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. Start at Van Buren, and by the end of the day, you're in Doniphan if you float on the crystal-clear Current River. Along the way, see craggy bluffs, rolling pasture lands, hidden caves, and plenty of springs that feed the river. Spelunkers can enjoy the 300 caves in the area.

For a real treat, get off the river and take a look at Big Spring (one of the largest in the world). Alley Mill sits in an idyllic spot near Eminence, as the red building stands out against the clear water and green trees. If you're really lucky, you may lay eyes on Shannon County's wild horse herd that roams freely throughout the ONSR.

Check with your outfitters regarding crowds and water levels on the rivers. This park is somewhat crowded during the summer. That's why a day float in mid-October, offers a fantastic chance to see the surrounding hills in their autumn glory.
