We had the best time! The staff was incredible, laughs were had, the facility itself was perfect for camping. They came around every night and dropped off firewood for us, live bait on the doc, boat rental was super easy, I can’t say enough good things!! The staff made the experience so good. We will definitely be back!!

The campground staff was very accommodating although Hipcamp reservation did not get transmitted to Holliday Landing personnel. Therefore we were not in the Holliday Landing reservation system when we arrived and the site that we selected thru was filled by another camper when we arrived. We were given another site that was very nice and actually better while at the far end of the campground.. Verizon cell service was spotty and campground WiFi did not reach our site so we enjoyed a quiet weekend without much social distraction. My wife and I enjoyed visiting Mingo Swamp NWR one day (our reason for being in the area) and then exploring the Holliday Landing bird sanctuary the following afternoon.

Disappointing Stay

1. Campsite issues for tents We had campsite 1 and it was a rocky patch and unsuitable for tents. 2. Privacy The site was too close to an RV site and the guests spoke loud and had their dog running into our site (not to mention they had music on the entire time and the host didn’t confront them about it). If you want peace and quiet, this place isn’t a good fit. 3. Restrooms Bathrooms and showers were running with water but they were dirty. 4. Kayaks They only had one-person kayaks and they were too small for my partner (when he leaned back? Water would get in). And the paddles were one sided. The lake also wasn’t the best (not clean fresh water, more like a pond). So booking the kayaks wasn’t really worth it. 5. Host was unresponsive. I had messaged them via the app two days after reservation to ask about the amenities and never heard back 6. Firewood Bring your own. We bought the bundle at the campsite which was wet. 7. Location It was easy to find the place w the direction provided. Once you arrive, there is a small office w the host’s phone number on the door to check in. 8. No common area This one isn’t a big deal breaker but if you need a place to grab tea or an indoor location to sit and read late at night, there isn’t one. Overall, disappointing, would not return, do not recommend. Amenities: Vending machine, showers, restrooms w running water, laundry room, lake, kayaks, pool, tap water nearby, firewood, fire pit, picnic table.

Electric pull was consistent, view from the site was nice. Bathrooms were a little traumatizing. Cold water, clogged drains, lots of established bugs. Booked the site for WiFi and laundry, which were both unavailable.

Site 3 - The Holliday Landing on the Lake

MY HUSBAND AND I LOVED CAMPSITE 31! IT WAS SECLUDED, SHADED, AND HAS GREAT VIEWS. YOU ARE NOT ON TOP OF YOUR NEIGHBORS. THE BATHROOMS WERE CLEAN. WE DIDN'T GET TO SWIM BUT THE POOL WAS CLEAN AND VERY INVITING. DOG FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT. STAFF WAS EASILY REACHED AND NICE ABOUT ME CALLING TO GET FIREWOOD AND STAY AND EXTRA NIGHT. WE VISITED STATE PARKS CLOSE BY, THERE WERE PLENTY OF SWIMMING HOLES WE ENJOYED. THEY HAD A STORE YOU CAN CALL STAFF TO MAKE A PURCHASE, LIMITED MERCHANDISE. WE WERE ABLE TO RELAX AND ENJOY OUR TIME AND PLAN TO GO BACK AS SOON AS WE CAN!

The campground needed a lot of work. It had rained before we arrived and the roads in the campground were just full of water holes. My biggest problem was that the campground host didn’t even know we were coming. Evidently when you make the reservation you are talking to someone in Florida not Missouri where the campground was located so when we arrived the full hook up site we reserved wasn’t even available. We were able to get a site that had water and electric only but we really wanted full hook ups. We only stayed one night instead of the two we paid for. We were able to get a full hook up site in the Greenville Recreation Campground about 10 miles down the road. Won’t use Hipcamp again to make a reservation. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Overall, we had a great experience! We wish there would have been more people to mingle around the campfire, but it was serene instead! The campsites have tables, electric, and a fire pit. We loved hearing the rain on our tent, and hosts were very responsive and helpful

Such a beautiful site! The staff was amazing definitely 10/10 recommend. They have a kids park, stor, shower area, full hook ups and a boat ramp and dock.

This was a first time experience for our family. Roasted hotdogs by fire and listening to the crickets, frogs , plus the moon reflecting on the lake was amazing. Thankyou for having us. We will return. Only con was a full hook up spot wasn’t actually available and we weren’t able to dump our tank due to the receiving end was to small.

There’s a glitch when booking through HipCamp and there is no site 44. However, our camp host saw us loop through and before we even started to loop again, he was there to help us. We really enjoyed this quiet, no frills campground. It was full of friendly people and we will definitely return!

Site 20 - The Holliday Landing on the Lake

I had reserved a space at this campground 18 months before the April 8 total solar eclipse as it lay right in the path of totality. Unfortunately, when my sister and I arrived at the campground, we discovered that the reservation made through Hipcamp had not been synchronized with the actual owners of the campground and our expected site # 20 was already occupied. Kelly was phenomenal in finding another site for us and we enjoyed our time at the location. Hipcamp is a 3rd party booking agent for this property and because Kelly had recently purchased the property, our reservation may have gotten lost in the process. Regardless of this hiccup, Holliday Landing on the Lake is a lovely campground and we were treated with respect and kindness.

Site 3 - The Holliday Landing on the Lake

It’s a great site, very pretty. They were not busy so we almost had it to ourselves. My only complaint is the hand pull shower in the bath house. A one armed person would find it very difficult. Also, Hip Camp gives you a site number, but that number is wrong. The owner said they have tried to straighten it out to no avail. We were given site number 28, but our actual number was 18. This meant confusion when we got there, we had to call the owner. It all worked out.

Excellent, wooded, secluded camping spot. Very clean and well maintained campground. Had large sites and pretty views of the lake. Should be noted somewhere that if you book on hipcamp you’re not guaranteed the spot you pick (something about their booking system doesn’t match with hipcamps system) however the owner Josh was very apologetic and offered us (what ended up being a better spot) many different options. He also threw in a free night, which was nice but not needed. Highly recommend, would definitely return.

Gorgeous, peaceful location!

My husband and I, with two of our dogs, spent this past weekend here. Everything was so green and the property was well-maintained. Great space between sites, wonderful shade trees throughout, and a very private setting allowing for peace and quiet. The campground wasn’t full, and Josh spaced us all so that we had at least a site between us. We stayed in a full hook-up spot which was by the road leading to the boat ramp. That’s the only traffic we experienced and heard, as it’s about 4 miles off Hwy 67. It was WONDERFUL. The water was a little high, but provided great little fishing holes in the shade trees. It looked like they were working on the boat dock area, but those just wanting to throw a few casts still had ample room to enjoy the day. One of our dogs loved the water, and they had a dog washing station set up with hot water and shampoo! What a treat! Bathrooms were very clean. Josh delivered us bundles of wood and told us to text if we needed anything. Great location, great service, and a wonderful place to just get away. We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful place. Decent cell reception (T mobile) but Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the sites. Definitely wish I had a kayak and more time to spend there. The only downside is the bugs but I guess that’s normal in nature, lol. Although some big something did accost my dog and she was not a fan of whatever big @$$ bug it was. Didn’t talk to many other staying there but everyone seemed nice enough doing their own thing. Would def recommend this place. If you’re a newbie towing like I was, the road there might seem a little daunting, but not undoable. Not too far from the main road so really easy to get to.

We ended up getting there later than expected, but Josh was able to accommodate us, no problem. Super sweet guy, and made sure we had everything we needed, and if not, made sure to tell us where everything was. In the morning, we woke up, and had coffee sitting on the dock, watching the fishing boats. Beautiful property. Not hard to get to at all. Would stay here again!

Great place to stay! The campground is quiet and calm at night. The host is very nice and helpful. The bath house was very clean and the showers were hot. Our spot on the water was secluded and had a great view. We would definitely recommend this campground!

Nice quiet place. Very well maintained grounds. When we needed some nightcrawlers, thet were out. Later that day, we got them deliveted to our campsite. Needed firewood, sent a text and it was there within 10 minutes. Josh and Carl went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable.
