The Mississippi River Project covers 314 miles along the Mississippi River from Potosi, Wisconsin all the way to Saverton, Missouri. But you’re not here to talk about that, are you? You want to know what to do out here! The project manages 16 campgrounds, 14 day-use facilities, 22 boat ramps, and 55,000 acres of forest. While we’re on the forest topic... did we mention that this particular project is the oldest and one of the largest continually managed forested resources managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers? Yup, there’s a long history of loving the land along the Mississippi! In Iowa, you’ll want to head over to the Coralville Lake area, which is special in it’s own way.
