Miss Effie's Flower Farm
Lovely lovely site and host. We saw delphiniums blooming, cherries almost ripe on the trees, and a new litter of bunchy fat kittens tucked into the old henhouse. The cornzebo was just right for a cup of tea and watching the moon rise.

Miss Effie's Flower Farm
Really enjoyed taking my son camping here. Cathy is a great host, I enjoyed visiting with her and she makes a great cup of coffee in the morning. The site is quiet, with plenty of nice grassy area to pitch a tent next to the cornzebo (which is so nice to hang out in). The portajohn is the cleanest we have ever used! And of course there were adorable farm kitties and flowers too. Would definitely recommend.

What a beautiful stay. As a female solo traveler I'm so happy a place like this exists. I enjoyed the beautiful sunset, dinner in the cornzebo, the smell of lilacs and the cleanest port a potty ever! Cathy is a wonderful host, I loved chatting with her. Sad I missed the FarmHers Market! Will definitely be coming back.

What a great spot in eastern Iowa! Cathy was great to chat with, she showed us around the property, the barn kitties were very sweet, and we had a calm evening tent camping! Plenty of spaces on the property to sit and relax and the property is gated off at night and well lit (by the porta potty and other seating areas, not by your tent so you can’t sleep or anything) which helped bring us peace of mind. I’d recommend camping here!

This was my first hip-camp experience and I really don't think I will beat it. Cathy's farm was lovely. I had been so busy and had a super long drive, but stepped into this breathtaking, whimsical, magical paradise. Words really do fall short. It was so relaxing, from the beautiful views, birds chirping, little nooks and crannies everywhere to enjoy the flowers. Cathy went above and beyond. She had a back up place for me to go in case of a storm. I had the best time chatting with her. She is wonderful, the farm is wonderful. It is completely safe for solo female travelers. I will definitely be back!

I loved camping on Cathy’s flower farm! The bathroom was clean and it was a beautiful view to wake up to. Cathy herself is the sweetest person and offers free coffee. If I ever am passing through Iowa, I would definitely stay here again.

I loved camping at Cathy’s flower farm. The garden is beautiful. This was my second time camping alone and it was so easy. Cathy greeted me and showed me around. Had a great time chatting and had plenty of time to relax. View is serene and so quiet at night.

Imagine this, a mom and two kids traveling cross country. On the road for days. Tired. Road weary. And then, Miss Effie’s Flower Farm. If you’re looking for a magical place to stay, this is it. Cathy is incredibly warm and inviting, just an amazing host, and she’s created this beautiful little pocket of safety for people to step into in and truly relax. Everything was incredible, including the portapotty (let’s be honest, they’re not always the best) which was clean, smelled great, and was pink on top of it. It fit in perfectly with the flowers 🌸 As we were getting settled, Cathy came out to tell us there was going to be a storm with very high winds, 80 mph. She had a small cottage she rents out (absolutely adorable if you’re looking to stay there) and she put us in there to keep us safe. She even came out and checked on us after the winds died down. The whole experience, plus delicious coffee in the morning, means we have to find a reason to come through Iowa again. If you’re looking to book here, don’t hesitate, it’s simply the most magical hipcamp we’ve ever stayed in (and we’re a camping family). Book here, you absolutely will not regret it!

Quiet and private.
Chickens, cats, beautiful flowers, garden art, places to sit, beautiful views, the cornzibo…. AND a sweet and accommodating host!!!
I plan to come back again and again and would highly recommend to anyone that needs to recharge their batteries, connect with nature, open their heart and fill their soul !!

Miss Effie's Flower Farm is a DARLING place to stay and a perfect little place to let kids explore and play! In addition to stunning views, this site offers flower picking, kids can see the roosters & hens, and there are so many adorable spots to get cozy and enjoy good conversation. The host is so kind and helpful! There is a clean little toilet on site as well as a hygiene station. Best of all, there are sweet farm cats that roam the property! We were delighted and will definitely be back.

The flower farm was beautiful. Cathy was a warm and gracious host. Finding the farm was simple and we set up a short walk from where we parked. The Corn Crib and firepit offered comfortable places to sit, relax and visit. The morning sunrise from our tents was beautiful and we were greeted in the morning by Cathy with coffee and tea. Cathy made several recommendations of things to do. We recommend the nearby farmer's market and ice cream in DeWitt!
There were photo opportunities all around the farm and plenty of cats to keep you company.

Cathy was warm a welcoming from the first second I got there. The flower farm is absolutely gorgeous! The decor around the farm is the cutest and most unique I have ever seen! It was so quite and calm at night. I would 10/10 recommend stay a night or two!!!

We booked this site last minute and Cathy was so welcoming when we arrived! The corn crib patio is amazing! Many great photo ops and would come back, but maybe in the fall when its a little cooler.
10/10 and 5 stars would recommend!

This place is so worth the 15 minutes off the freeway! Very safe- gated and well lit at night! So many separate spaces to hangout and things to see. Not to mention the beautiful orange sunset. Lots of cute photo op moments too. Cathy is such a free spirit. I knew I would like her and her when she offered me a Klondike bar on arrival. Haha. I really enjoyed chatting with her over a cup of coffee in the morning too. I felt safe and well taken care of. Her and her husband really built a little magical slice of heaven. I will be back to Miss Effie’s Magical flower garden!

This place is incredible! I booked it last minute and Cathy was incredibly kind, accommodating of my campervan & welcoming from the start!
This flower farm was a beautiful place to stay the night. I spent the evening in the cornzebo watching a beautiful sunset over farm fields. Cathy was warm & gracious & made me feel extra safe, very important as a female solo traveler.
In the morning she shared a free cup of coffee and I loved chatting with her about books we’ve been reading. I also picked a bucket of flowers from her farm, which is an incredible perk of staying the night here!
Definitely book this place if you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay in Iowa!

This place was absolutely wonderful. We pulled up super late after driving all day and were greeted by her lovely cats and the beautiful property that was lit up with string lights. I assume, if it wasn’t cloudy, the stars would have been breathtaking. There was a perfect grassy spot to set up our tent (next to the one-of-a-kind cornzeebo) and we had a great and very safe nights sleep. In the morning, Miss Effie gave us cups of coffee and chit chatted with us, giving us the perfect start to another day of driving! If you’re driving through Iowa definitely come stay here!!
