Trail camps seem to provide the best of both worlds for hiking/camping enthusiasts. You get all the stunning sights from your riverside hike in, and all the R&R at camp. Nestled in the San Gabriel River Canyon, you, your buddies, and your pooch can get cozy by a campfire (permit required). You can call a nearby stream your water supply, but it must be treated first.
