The Uinta River Group Campground is the place to be when it comes to enjoying the area’s fishing and trail opportunites. Located about 25 miles from Roosevelt, the campground lies in an open meadow beneath towering Ponderosa pines. Just up the road is the Uinta River Trailhead, providing you access to the Chain Lakes region of the High Uinta Wilderness. Numerous sparkling lakes provide excellent backcountry fishing opportunities, and hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding are popular activities in the surrounding wilderness.
