Horse Creek Adventures: Tent Sites
in Horse Creek Adventures, IowaA unique and beautiful landscape

What a beautiful property! We so enjoyed our night at one of the tent sites nestled in the woods on the looes hills of Iowa. What a wonder this area is! So much bird life. Lona delivered a fire ring and water to our campsite so that we were able to safely enjoy a campfire. She also helped ferry our things to and from the campsite - even meeting us at 8am to help us pack up. She explained the many improvements that they've made to the property - and pointed out a pretty place to watch the sunset. Would be a wonderful place to spend more time. We loved it!

in Crater Lake Private Woodlands, OregonWe enjoyed our forest campsite that allowed us peace, quiet, and a beautiful view of the stars as well as a convenient place to rest on our way to Crater Lake. The site itself was immaculate with a picnic table and lounge chairs. The hosts provided excellent directions and information about walks in the area. The drive to camp was beautiful with views of the river and a lovely winding drive. Don't miss it!

in South Dakota Prairie Camping, South DakotaWe appreciated the warm welcome at the end of a long day's drive. Everything was organized and clearly explained. Our campsite was clearly marked, and we had a great view of the sunset and night sky. We even snapped a photo of comet Neowise (with fireflies in the foreground). We didn't have time for a farm tour, but I'm sure our kids would have enjoyed it.

Stagecoach Acres
in Stagecoach Acres, NevadaSo peaceful. Pat's directions were perfect, and she met us, provided insights about the area and instructions about using the shower and bathroom. She also pointed out a group of wild horses that our kids in particular really enjoyed seeing. Driving past the sagebrush and open country, it gives the impression that it is uninhabited. Getting off the road and spending time up close reveals so many wonders - horn toads, quail, rabbits, etc. Loved it!

Site 2 - Desert Oasis Gardens
in Desert Oasis Gardens, UtahNice views, good location
We enjoyed the mountain views and a respite from the traffic around Salt Lake City. Four campsites in a large field. With two other families there, there was still plenty of room for kids to ride bikes and run around. Good location - convenient but calm.
Past trip
in Logan Ranch Campground, WyomingWe made a last minute reservation, and we are so glad that we did! As indicated in the instructions, we called Robert from the gate and we followed his car to our campsite. It's a dirt road, so it's helpful to have a vehicle with higher clearance (or choose a site closer to the gate). The land is beautiful with views of the mountains, rolling hills, interesting granite boulders. Our site was huge, filled with wildflowers, great views, and multiple places to pitch a tent. It is truly a destination to be savored, and I wish we had more time.

We had fun leaving the interstate and driving county roads through a pretty agricultural area to Carolyn's home. It was very windy, so she suggested setting up our tent near our vehicle and her trailer, which helped shield the tent from the wind. In better weather, her ample yard would have been a perfect spot to pitch a tent. Our kids enjoyed playing soccer in the yard, and we all enjoyed a visit from her friendly cat in the morning. Be sure to follow her directions as the Google coordinates were not exact.

This site exceeded expectations! It's a wooded oasis in a lovely agricultural area. Brady had left a fire for us, which was a wonderful welcome - especially because we arrived later than hoped. We were the only ones there, though there is ample space for other campers. We enjoyed listening to owls at night. We will be back!
