Magnolia Trail (Campsite #1)
in Friendly Fowl Farm, South CarolinaMorning glory farm/friendly fowls
We camped on the site closest to the front of the home. When we arrived, our host Belinda greeted us and showed us where to park. After we setup, we purchased a dozen of fresh eggs laid by her âfriendly fowlâ.
Our site was very spacious with nice big tree canopies. Iâm glad I took my screened gazebo, because lots of debris constantly fell from the trees. On day two we purchased $1 tablecloths to cover items left out on the table.
Since, we camped in my self contained teardrop trailer, we did not have to use the portable shower/toilet that was provided on the property. We also took along our camp stove, portable inverters and charging devices for our electrical items. There was a water hydrant on our site that was very handy. It was a bonus walking around the farm and watching the animals (hogs, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and beehives). The rooster reminded us each morning around 05:15 that it was time to rise and shine and start a new day. We ignored him!
I recommend if youâre taking a trailer, not to forget your jockey wheel dock. The soil is very soft and sandy, so when we hooked up to leave, I could not raise the jockey wheel high enough to remove it (it had dug deep into the sand). For the hosts, I recommend cleaning cobwebs and debris from the portable shower house, since it is listed as an amenity.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and highly recommended Glory Farms. It is within 10-15 minutes of restaurants and other businesses in St Helena.
