My girlfriend and I had mixed feelings about staying at a state park due to social distancing so I decided to book on Hipcamp. Hill Country Heaven was a great getaway from the city in a really beautiful, and tucked away, part of the hill country. All in all our wish for more isolation was granted as we had our pick of campsites. We set up our tent in the shade of a small grove of trees then hiked around the terrain. Being there during the spring we saw many brightly colored flowers that I had never seen before.
Later, after listening to the symphony of frogs around the pond for a while we made a fire in the fire ring and used the provided pic-nic table to make dinner. The view of the landscape beyond the pond is of a relatively steep hill that is quite majestic.
Everything was clean, kept up, and far beyond our expectations. Jack was also very quick to respond and communicated everything clearly. I would definitely recommend this place to other people.

Past trip
in Long View Lodge, ColoradoWhat a place! The pictures and description of Long View Lodge were more than accurate, but the actual experience goes above and beyond. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by our hosts, Will and Nancy. They provided so many conveniences for our stay that made relaxing come easy. The house was extremely comfortable and surprisingly spacious.
Hiking options around the cabin were abundant. We ventured down to a meadow that provided a breathtaking view of the mountains nearby. At one point we found ourselves in a small grove of Aspen trees that felt like small secret oasis among the Pines.
Another great thing about the cabin was the isolation. Whether it was day or night we really felt like we were the only two people around for miles, but we also knew if we needed anything it was only a short drive into town.
We will definitely be back to Long View Lodge some day.
Joel hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
