Long View Lodge is quite simply an incredible place to be. Everything about the cabin, location and hosts exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival Will and Nancy were nothing but gracious and inviting, making us immediately feel right at home. Their property is insanely beautiful with nearly 360 views of 14,000 foot mountains.

As we made our way down to the cabin we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of privacy and seclusion this location offered. It was cozy and adventurous all at once. The cabin was stocked with everything you could possibly need and more including a fire pit and firewood, a gas grill, a full kitchen, an RV style outhouse and plenty of drinking water.

As we settled in it was impossible to not feel at peace, and we quickly realized just how beautiful this location was. At night the stars shined so bright by the fireside it was almost overwhelming how comfortable we felt.

In the morning we decided to explore some of the surrounding trails and stumbled upon an abandoned mine shaft. This location was also ideal for anyone with dogs. There is tons of free space in front of the cabin and surrounding trails for dogs to run free, I think our puppy Kaia might have had even more fun than us.

Overall I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away from the world and escape the daily grind. It literally embodies peace of mind and I assure you will leave one happy camper.

Thanks again to Will and Nancy for everything!

We had a beautiful, restful stay a Long View Lodge! We brought breakfast foods and coffee from home and spent each morning we were there sitting with the silence of daybreak, watching the mountains come alive with color. It was dazzling and so were our hosts! On a personal note, my partner and I got engaged while we were there sitting cuddled up by the campfire—romantic, deep in the woods and all by ourselves. A perfect weekend. We will be back soon!

Long View Lodge is simply spectacular. I spent almost a full week at Will and Nancy's place early November. It's desolate and gorgeous. Will and Nancy were very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed including plenty of drinking water, heat, and firewood. Lots of great hiking and hot springs nearby. Can't wait to go back!

Will and Nancy's cabin was absolutely wonderful! We were down there for a short winter weekend of hiking, snowshoeing and hot springs. Both Will and Nancy were incredibly welcoming from the minute we got there. The cabin is well stocked with everything you might need (other than the wine). It is very cozy and in a great location with amazing view. I would highly recommend to anyone to go to their cabin and check out the very cool surrounding areas whether it be Salida, hiking on the property/surrounding mountains or the abandoned mines nearby.

Beautiful winter evening at the cabin.

This place was perfect! I wanted to find a cabin in the woods with a beautiful view and seclusion and I got just that, plus so much more! My pup was able to roam freely, the views exceeded my expectations, the hosts were super accommodating, and it was just perfect! I 10/10 recommend!

Our stay at Long View Lodge was amazing! Will & Nancy are great hosts - very kind and ever so helpful. The cabin was immaculate and cozy. For being off-the-grid we got more than we were expecting and had all of the basic comforts of home. We enjoyed morning coffee with an amazing view, hiked and mountain biked during the day, and watched incredible sunsets in perfect solitude. We definitely plan on returning for another stay.
