Intro: I am from Austin, and we moved out to Spicewood to have a more peaceful life, and our family lives in this area. We like having the lake close by, and our neighbors are awesome!

Wildlife Oasis Near the Llano River
in Andrew B.âs Land, TexasElectricity and firewood!
Very responsive hosts! I took my three kids and we camped in a small camper. I thought the price was fair, considering that it comes with electricity, plenty of firewood, a new picnic table and plenty of privacy. The stars were fantastic.
Rio Grande Gorge National Monument
in Rio Grande Gorge National Monument, New MexicoRichard was a very nice, communicative, and helpful host. We used this Pilar camp as a base camp for skiing at Taos mountain for 4 nights. Its about a 40 min drive up to the ski area, but we enjoyed camping in the lower / warmer elevation. We brought our mini camper. The site is on a concrete pad, and theres a little incline to get up to it, so practice your backing up trailer skills before you arrive! Our 50 ft. Extension cord barely reached to the working 110 outlet. We especially enjoyed evenings around the adobe fireplace. There are a few non-functioning cars about but dont let that bother you :) The bathroom was acceptable. We enjoyed that there was hot water in the bathroom and a flush toilet as other campgrounds in the area have closed bathrooms at the moment. Be aware theres no cell service down there, but he has a fast internet connection.
Little Blue Beauty on the Rock
in Gondola Village at Holy Cross, ColoradoFun mountain hut adventure
Awesome tiny hut in the holy cross mountains! We hiked up there with our 3 small children, which was difficult, but we managed. We started our hike too late, and ended up navigating the rugged Jeep trail through the large creek crossing in the rain and in the dark, but were so thankful for the solar light that guided us to the hut from holy cross city historical site. Wonderfully cozy 3 nights. Day trips to super scenic Cleveland Lake and Fancy Lakes. Amazing view right at the door step. An incredibly memorable trip! Pots, pans, sleeping bags, extra pads, plates bowls and utensils are provided. Wood stove wasnât working quite right, but we had nice fires outside.
