in No Name none, CaliforniaSite 46 - Desert Sanctuary - Dry RV and Tent Camping
in Desert Sanctuary at Rincon Peak, ArizonaHad a great time camping here with Dana! The Desert Sanctuary was clean and beautiful, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the upkeep. The day we spent here was really hot (105F) and we were one of the only tent campers on the property. We were able to hangout at the pool during the day (lots of shade and chairs) and the pool water was chilled so jumping in felt amazing. By night time it had cooled to a comfortable temperature. We felt safe and welcome the entire time, and I definitely recommend a stay here!

in LeRoy & Paula's Alpacas, ArizonaMy boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay with LeRoy and Paula! We were driving through on a roadtrip to see our families during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we felt safe and welcome the entire time. We were the only campers, but all of the campsites are separated and secluded. Firewood was provided onsite when we arrived, and all of the campsites had access to a clean outhouse. We were also given some farm fresh chicken eggs. :-)
Paula and LeRoy went the extra mile and gave us a tour of their lovely alpaca farm (they also have two fluffy dogs, goats, chickens, horses, and mini horses!!!) LeRoy also took the time to educate us on alpacas and showed us how the alpaca fiber is processed to make wool. Paula and LeRoy are a lovely couple and we are so glad we got to stop at Double G Alpacas during our road trip. The only thing I'll add is that there are a lot of animals around the property, so you will hear some animal noises at night. If you're a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs!
Desenrascanco Camp, near I-10.
in Desenrascanco Camp, TexasWe loved camping out here at Desenrascanco Camp! This campsite is super secluded in the desert, and we saw a lot of cool animals ( like jackrabbits, cicadas, and little desert lizards) along with a gorgeous sunset. We were tent camping, so we drove along mockingbird road and pulled off into a side road and pitched our tent on the dirt road. Thereâs no service out here, so get your maps app loaded earlier. Otherwise, the written instructions were great too.
