Pitch your tent on four primitive acres and enjoy plenty of walking trails and the fire pit on our cool desert evenings. The site is a short walk to the main house, where you will pass a herd of Alpacas. Learn all about the animals, you can even take some Alpaca fiber crafting classes. We love to share our love of Alpacas with everyone.

The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed chatting with them and meeting the alpacas. The campsite was nice; there was even firewood waiting for us. The site we stayed in was perfectly suitable for our 17’ travel trailer.

I arrived late for just one night so didn’t have a chance to get to know the area, but Paula and Leroy were very welcoming. Their campsite is just off the road but felt private and they’ve built a lovely fire / cooking pit. There are many dogs in the neighbourhood so I was woken up several times by barking, but I think I heard coyotes howling in the distance and that’s probably what was setting off the dogs.

Paula and Leroy were extremely friendly and accommodating! We had a lovely time learning about and getting to know all of the alpacas. We especially enjoyed the alpaca fur processing demo. The campsite was extremely well taken care of and efficient. 10/10 would stay here again!

We were looking for a place to cook over a campfire, but when we saw there were also alpacas, we were sold! We did not stay the night, but that was not our intention to begin with. Leroy was an amazing host. We will be back

It was a wonderful spot, relatively secluded but still within walking distance of the farm itself. The fire pit was lovely, and the area was filled with wildlife. They had provided some firewood for us to use, which was very thoughtful. It was quiet both nights we stayed, with the occasional sound of horses or birds and some early rising roosters!

This site was awesome! Paula answered us immediately with confirmation and directions. LeRoy gave us a tour of their alpaca farm and the 4 campsites and let us choose where to stay. Every site was pretty large, private, and clean with a fire pit and a whole stack of firewood.
But the best part is all the animals! The alpaca are adorable, they have a couple dogs, chickens, and there are horses and two donkeys across from the campsites:)

Paula and LeRoy were impeccable hosts. The tour of their beautiful alpaca ranch was lovely. Along with understanding how they obtain the alpaca wall. The campsite was perfect. We had a nice little fire. And it was a great place to stay to get to Bisbee and such in the local area

Paula and LeRoy were great. Upon arrival, they offered potable water and a cassette toilet if I need one. They led me to the available campsites and invited me to come over to visit the alpaca's which I did the next day. Paula stopped working to share her love of her alpacas and other animals, she also showed me how they process the fiber and the products they end up with. I couldn't help myself and bought some items including what I have determined are the most comfortable sock I have worn in 58 years. If you are a light sleeper, bring some earplugs, the local animals, coyotes, dogs, cows, burros and horses like to sing at night. :). Oh and be careful, I got a bit stuck in the sand with my van but luckily had some Goodyear rubber traction mats and was able to move to a more firm spot on the campground. Paula and Leroy's place is just a couple minutes walk away though and I'm sure would have helped had I need it.

I spent two terrific nights in a camper van at Paula and Leroy’s place, in site 3. The four campsites are located across the road from the main house (with site 1 being the closest to the road running through the neighborhood). All of the sites are spacious and private, tucked into the mesquite trees with gorgeous views of the mountains. Each site has chairs and a freestanding fire bowl, with wood provided (I imagine depending on conditions, fires may or may not be allowed; be careful – you’re in the desert!). A cute outhouse is currently under construction at the center of the four sites.

I am a solo female traveler, and I felt safe and comfortable here. The privacy and rural setting can’t be beat. A word about dogs, horses, chickens, and other critters – others have mentioned noise from animals. It depends on what your tolerance is. You are in a rural neighborhood in the country, so you will hear animals. I did not find this bothersome at all, and in fact found it soothing. It will just depend on whether or not you like the sounds of the countryside. Also, distant neighborhood barking seemed to tone down, later into the night.

I did not meet Leroy in person, but talked to him on the phone, and Paula checked me into the site and also gave me a tour of their lovely property. They are fantastic hosts and well-suited to making people feel at home. I feel as if I made friends!

If you have time, make sure to take Paula up on an offer for a tour. Their alpaca enterprise is extensive, and so interesting. Everything from the delightful animals themselves (including dogs, miniature horses, etc.), up to the spinning of fiber, and the items made from the fiber is fascinating. I came away with a bar of goat milk soap crafted by a neighbor, covered in colorful felt made courtesy of the alpacas; soap and washcloth all in one, and it smells heavenly.

Finally, if you’re visiting the Coronado National Monument (highly recommend taking the park shuttle up, then hike down Montezuma Pass to the Visitor Center) or the San Pedro riparian area, both are within easy drives of 30 minutes or less, and the city of Sierra Vista proper is about 15-20 minutes away with gas, groceries, pharmacies, restaurants, etc.
