Right off of the lakeshore there’s a small loop of twenty campsites each with a picnic table, grill, water, and electricity and access to showers and restrooms; these sites are good for those camping in tents and RV’s, though we recommend RVers check out Council Bluff instead. If you stay here, though, you may be filled with a profound sense of jealousy, because Camanche Trails is also home to a series of shelters and cabins that have amenities that include basically everything you’d expect in an average home including A/C and heat. So if you are a pretty chill person, this spot is fine, but if you’re prone to fits of jealous rage at the thought of being unable to keep up with the Joneses, maybe move to Willow Point (or just get a cabin yourself).
