Campo Nopalito

Loved this glamping site. We had the 4 person tent at top of the property. Truly comfortable beds. Lovely views and enough privacy. Jacob was so helpful and kind. The facilities are beautifully designed— bathrooms, kitchen and shower (all outdoor). Several different areas to sit on the property (in and around the outdoor kitchen), in addition to your own campsite seating. So relaxing. Would definitely return anytime. As mentioned in other reviews and by the owners, there are electrical lines that hum audibly overhead (esp if you are in the tent cabin)—but they did not bother us.

Camping Without the Sore Back

Campo Nopalito is great. My wife, toddler and I stayed in the Coyote cabin for a night and really liked it. It's not the most remote, deep in nature site, but we still got to be in the outdoors away from the city, and without the type of planning, packing and long drive that goes into more wilderness tent camping. We do love the remote tent camping experience, too, but it comes with trade offs - like having to reserve a decade in advance and not the most comfy sleep. At Campo Nopalito, it was nice to sit around a campfire making smores at night, and then rolling into our very comfortable bed in the open sky. That and not having to pack a lot of the camping essentials (like cookware and toiletries), having access to a refrigerator, etc. made for a much more simple trip. We didn't rough it off the grid but still got to get away from the usual noise for a bit. We would do it, again, and stay more than a night. Jacob was wonderful, and his co-host, Gertie the farmdog, was always coming to check in on us to make sure we were all good!

This was our first HipCamp experience and Jacob made it such a great one! The camp site was exactly as described. We used the pizza oven to make pizzas for dinner and the kitchen was definitely well stocked! The bathroom was charming and clean. So much space in the tent and we loved how covered it was from the blazing sun. You can tell Jacob put a lot of time and care into ensuring the perfect stay for his guests. My 5 year old daughter loved roaming the property, swinging on the hammocks, and picking avocados, lemons, and kamquats! Would definitely stay here again!

Had a wonderfully amazing and relaxing time with my dog and my wife! Jacob's land is gorgeous, his sites are placed just far enough away that you get some pretty nice privacy. The views are great, the shower is on point, and the kitchen has everything you could ask for! Jacob is a stellar host, he even took some time to teach us how to work the wood oven. Looking forward to come back here again!

Nopalito farms is amazing. I would book a stay here again and again. I definitely recommend Squirrel Cabana and Eureka Casita specifically. Gertie, the local dog there is very friendly; doesn’t miss greeting all guests esp in the morning. Jacob is a wonderful host, very responsive and available to answer queries and address concerns. I specifically like their bathrooms— very clean and very comfortable. 10/10 for the kitchen which has everything you’ll ever need including spices, salt/pepper (just bring food to cook) & shower with open concept + amazing hot/cold water. We had a peaceful and wonderful stay!

Jacob responded quickly and was very clear in his communication. The farm was peaceful, the cabin was clean and the light left in the cabin was fully charged. The kitchen was packed with more than just essentials.

Much needed break away from the hustle and bustle at Jacob’s place. Great communication and very responsive, beautiful area, comfy beds, full kitchen, and the list goes on and on. Glamping with a camping feel to it. What more can you ask for. Left the land super well rested and rejuvenated. Would book again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The host was very friendly and helpful, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. It was also great to have access to a refrigerator. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean, and the mattresses were very comfortable. We especially enjoyed using the pizza oven, and the outdoor shower with hot water was a really nice touch. Walking around the farm with the dog was peaceful and enjoyable as well.

Wonderful spot

Excellent spot with beautiful views. The amenities were perfect - great mix of having what we needed without it taking away from the outdoor experience. Also Gertie, the farm dog, couldn't have been friendlier

Camping with dogs heaven

This is our second time visiting Nopalito farm. This time at the Hilltop Tent which was perfect for 3 people and 2 dogs. The tent is the most private of the farm which is nice. We love coming back here because of the beautiful grounds, outdoor shower, pizza oven and well stocked kitchen, and Gertie/the dogs allowed policy. 11/10 recommend!

We LOVE Camp Nopalito!!

We LOVE staying at Camp Nopalito. The Hilltop tent was awesome. It is the most private site and is super comfy. The beds are awesome and it’s near to the bathroom and kitchen as well. We enjoyed watching the full moon rise over Palomar! It’s so close to San Diego and is a sweet spot to escape the grind. Many thanks to Jacob. We are so grateful that he shares his special spot with people like us. Gertie, his dog, is the best, too. She makes us laugh and always makes sure to say hi when we arrive. Until next time!

Squirrel Cabana - Fantastic!

Fantastic property, great A frame dwelling, tons of birds and plants to make the environment interesting. The kitchen was luxurious. Just make sure not to leave your food unguarded because Gertie will find it.

Loved the coyote cabin! Felt very safe there as a female camping alone. The kitchen had everything I needed, bathrooms and shower were well kept, and the whole campsite was very peaceful. Also, the camp dog (Gertie) was the sweetest girl

Best camping trip!

I loved my stay at nopalito farms! I met Jacob who was working on the farms and he was so nice and communicative. Our little cabin was amazing and it had everything we needed and more. I want to come back during the summer it was such a nice little get away from the city. I really liked it here because it was in between camping and glamping, it was a good medium. I really want to come back when all the trees have fruit in them.

A wonderful place to stay!

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at The Hideaway glamping tent. The tent was surprisingly roomy and the beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have a campfire and enjoy looking at the stars and listening to coyotes howling in the distance The whole property is beautiful and well kept. You can tell that Jacob really cares about what he has built. There are lots of comfortable places to gather with friends if you come and stay as a group. The kitchen is fully stocked. And of course we had to try making a fresh pizza in the pizza oven! My friend had car problems so we arrived late but Jacob was so accommodating and even got the firewood ready inside the pizza oven so all we had to do was light it and wait for it to heat up and make our pizza! Thank you for doing that! It was really a nice touch after a stressful situation!

Great local retreat!

We normally go tent camping (a lot of times, at more primitive sites), but decided to give “glamping” a go to celebrate a birthday. Not gonna lie, it was pretty nice having amenities like flushing toilets, an outdoor shower, and an outdoor kitchen (complete with a pizza oven)! The little cabin was cute and cozy and I loved that the wall/roof just opens up to the fresh air - we even slept with it kept open. They are view of the other cabins but it wasn’t that big of a deal and the other camps we encountered were very nice. They have an adorable farm doggo, Gertie, who would make her rounds each morning to say hi and come in for pets and skritches. The farm owner/host, Jacob, was super friendly and helpful and was always responsive to all of our questions/needs. We brought ingredients to make pizza in their pizza oven so Jacob set it up for us, gave us instructions/tips, and just let us try out it for ourselves which was so fun. We messed up the first one but the others turned out great! Just beware that the oven will take about 1.5 hours to heat up so plan for that. We had a great time at Campo Nopalito… It was a peaceful little retreat and we will be back!

The space is amazing- very beautiful/rolling hills. The outdoor shared space is great, and especially the outdoor shower at night was transformative. The cabin was also cozy, bed really comfortable, sheets/pillow nice, and the fact that the A-frame opened up so you could see the stars was incredible. But all that said, I couldn't stay on the property for more than 2 hours because there is a giant power line running right across the property. I'm sensitive to EMF and the emf of a high tension line 100' away is roughly equivalent to 10,000x a wifi router at 100' away. There's nothing they can really do about this other than put emf shielding on the cabins (to make them faraday cages), and my guess is that if you can't feel when you're in a space with active wifi you probably won't notice this either (have friend try turning on/off and see if you can feel difference in a blind test). Wifi is also a higher energy/frequency signal (Ghz) vs. power lines are low frequency (60Hz) but high power. Again, I think they did everything right and the community was great there, but the power lines made it so it couldn't really be in the space for an extended period of time.

We loved camping on Jacob's land. Eureka was very comfortable and the shared amenities really made it easy and enjoyable. The area is beautiful, and we felt really safe being while we were there. We will definitely be going back.

We had the BEST time on Jacob’s farm! The space was clean and tidy and the communal spaces were so warm and welcoming. This was the much needed retreat spot we were hoping for. We will definitely be back! (huge plus: Jacob’s dog was the sweeeetest girl)
