Due to high demand in a gorgeous state park, the good folks at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources created a large camp called what else but Mississippi Palisades Campground. Here there are Class A and B sites offering your preference of sun and shade. There are some handicap-accessible sites along with two youth group sites.

Beautiful camping ground, great hiking, friendly people, but there's a freight train that runs throughout the night blaring it's horn, even at 2am. Made for a disruptive night with a toddler, so we left after the first night.

Lots of mosquitoes too : /

Just got back from camping there (18June2020). Approximately half of the park was closed , not sure why. The park is very clean with a friendly staff. However, due to the flee infestation I will probably never go back. If you decide to go bring a head net to keep the flies out of your eyes, nose, mouth, etc.! Otherwise, it was a nice place.
