Hello 2022 Hipcampers! We are excited to see all you lovely guests here at Waterfall Sanctuary this year.

Don't forget to check out our other listing for the cabin we finished in November of 2021! The view from it's windows and cozy king sized bed is breathtaking!

Waterfall Sanctuary is a hidden gem at the end of a dead-end road on 17 acres of land, bordered on two sides by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside of Carson, Washington, Waterfall Sanctuary is home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, and chickens. Deer and elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or a short drive) to the Wind River and a perfect swimming hole with a rope swing, and another short distance further down the road is the Pacific Crest Trail.

A 20-minute drive and you're at the Columbia River, the world destination for kiteboarding and windsurfing. Water equipment can be rented from nearby businesses or you can book a whitewater rafting trip on the White Salmon River. An hour from the property to the West is Portland, Oregon if you are in the mood for some city life, and about 40 minutes to the east is Hood River, Oregon, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm, shopping, breweries, and great restaurants. Drive the Fruit Loop or do a winery tour. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is also home to adorable shops, great local restaurants, and access to the Columbia River as well.

Also in close proximity are multitudes of amazing waterfalls, Panther Creek Falls and Falls Creek Falls being the two closest. National Forest roads are close by and well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property.

PLEASE NOTE: It can get chilly at night. Although we provide an extra blanket, if you are more sensitive to the cold please bring extras or a sleeping bag with you- BUT ALSO... we do have heaters for rent for each tent, so if you don't want to rough it, we have you covered! Make sure to select it before you check out. :)

AND ALSO: Since we are in the stunning Pacific Northwest and one of the reasons it's so beautiful is the rainfall we get, don't be surprised if it rains during your stay. The tents are waterproof and the cooking area is covered. Many trails around us are located under the tree canopy, so hiking is a great thing to do when it's raining! Plus you get the low-lying clouds and fog that make the PNW so mystical and magical in the shoulder months. Just pack for the weather and take advantage of the magic that the PNW displays in the shoulder months. :)

We have 4 tents available to rent out, one cabin (with more to come down the road!)  and 2 porta-potties.

About each site, to help you choose the one that fits your needs the best:

Site #1- This site is home to the awesome 20-foot diameter Stargazer tent, where you can see the night sky from your bed. :) It is also the closest to the communal area with seating, a propane fire table, a picnic table, and the communal cooking area. This tent can fit up to 5 SNUGGLY. If you are wanting more privacy you can choose sites #3 or #4.

Site #2- This site is the smallest tent at 16 feet in diameter and fits 4 people MAXIMUM. This tent is the closest one to site #1 so it's a great one to book along with #1 if you need more than one tent for you and your group. This tent has a picnic table next to it.

Site #3- This 20-foot diameter tent is located in a small clearing with a picnic table next to it and fits up to 5 people SNUGGLY.

Site #4- This is the most private tent and it's tucked next to a large tree. It's 20 feet in diameter and can fit up to 5 people as well, SNUGGLY. It does not have a dedicated picnic table (this is also the closest tent to #3, so if you want to book more than one tent this is also a good pairing).

We had a fun time staying at Tyla & Nates place. We saw lots of animals during our stay. The Stargazer tent was perfect for our family.

I stayed on site #4. It was worthy. I saw site #2 seemed to be lacking some things that were promised and all sites agreed they thought they were getting a stargazer tent, so that was the only disappointment for our site. Otherwise everything was very incredible and although we didn’t participate with the pricy options on the property to engage in, we had our kids and spent most of the time enjoying it privately on site #4 as mentioned in the description. Loved it.

I loved tent camping in Tyla’s land. She provided clear instruction on how to get there, and check in and out was very easy. Our first night was beautiful as it was a clear night, it was magical sleeping under the stars.

Had an excellent time, despite very rainy weather. The tent was super cute and cozy, and we enjoyed exploring the trails around the camping spot. Definitely get some duck eggs; made for an amazing breakfast! Spent several hours hiking nearby at Falls Creek Falls which was great. I appreciated the pamphlet of info we got when we checked in. Recommend and will likely stay here again!

Great land and well appointed tents with comfy beds. Would love to come back. Tyla and family were kind and lovely to share their land and kids loved petting the goats and chickens. Fairy 🧚‍♀️ Forrest was special!
