Welcome 2026 Hipcampers! We have many exciting changes for our guests this year! Along with the geodesic dome, RV sites, wood-fires sauna, store, and cafe added last season, this year we will have 3 stargazer tents! Brand new tents at sites 1, 2, and 6- all Stargazers. Spend the night looking at the stars from the comfort of your own bed. We will also be adding more DIY tent spots as the season progresses, so keep an eye out for those as well. And, look at the option available for booking the whole property for retreats, group camping trips, weddings, or anything else. Ask about the added bonuses for booking the whole property. BEFORE BOOKING: Please read all rules & restrictions- due to some guests we had to update & add new ones. **DOGS (MAX 2 per site- select under "Extras" for each dog- $15/nightly fee each): PLEASE read ALL the rules- especially about having your dog on a leash AT ALL times while on the property. More info under the pet rule section. Thank you! Waterfall Sanctuary is a hidden gem on 17 acres, bordered on two sides by the Gifford Pinchot N F. In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington. It's home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River with a swimming hole, & a short distance further to the Pacific Crest Trail. A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River. Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property. Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, a container of water for each site.

Site 9- Quiet Wooded Camp (50ft)

Site 9 is just for our RV, van, or tent campers Set away from the other campsites this offers a decent amount of privacy surrounded by trees, while being easy to pull into and back out of. Site 9 can accommodate a vehicle UP TO 50 FEET IN TOTAL LENGTH (Please know the length of your set-up. If you need a shorter space then Site 8 would be a better selection). A picnic table and umbrella are included at each site. Walking distance to the bathroom and shower building and easy access to the trails. These sites are graveled, so keep that in mind if you are thinking of setting up a tent. :)

This campsite has trees on one side and is fairly open on the side that runs along the road, while being easy to pull into and back out of. This site is the location of our 27-foot diameter geodesic dome! Inside you will find sleeping accommodations for up to 6 people (1 full bed, 2 twins, a twin daybed and a twin trundle, with a dining area and a living room space, plenty of room to move around inside, and a huge gorgeous window that looks out onto the trees. For the fall and winter months there is a wood stove as well. This is a good site to pair with sites #2 or #4 if you need more than one for your group. There is a picnic table and firepit outside. Our Outlook cabin has the best view on the property. Hike up a short, slightly steep trail to your very private tiny cabin, with a king-sized bed, perfect for two! A heater is already included for chilly nights and the bathroom building is right down at the bottom of the trail. Use it as a basecamp for exploring the best the PNW has to offer in year-round activities, from hiking and exploring waterfalls, and eating at the great local restaurants!

This Stargazer is the most private of all the 20 foot tents on the property and also has the best view of the valley and the sunsets, other than the cabin. As with all our sites there is a dedicated picnic table, fire pit, 1 king and 3 twin beds with bedding, pillows and extra blankets that can sleep up to 5 people, and rugs on the floor. Inside the stand to the left of the door are towels for you use and the remote for the light sits on top. A parking spot and room to turn around are also provided right next to the tent, but far enough away to not block your beautiful view. Right down the hill is a porta-potty and not too much further away is the bathroom building with a hot water shower and a toilet. We are happy to offer a full-property rate for retreats, multiple-day workshops, weddings, group camping trips, large family vacations, and more. With a capacity for 41 people this comes out to only just over $31.50 per person per night (not including taxes and fees)! The full-property rental includes everything you get when renting each individual site such as: the outside bathroom building, all the outdoor community gathering spots, the propane BBQ grill, access to all trails, access to a full indoor kitchen, indoor bathroom, indoor seating, a movie/game room, the fairy garden and so on. Propane heaters will still be available for rent for each site individually and an additional fee when a new tank is needed (this covers only our cost of the propane itself. (Heater rental fee is not needed for the cabin since the heater is included in the price, but there will be a charge for any new tanks). Please inquire about any other extras or additions you would like to include with your booking during our initial conversation about your event (this includes firewood, wifi, use of the the wood fired sauna to your package for guest use, etc.). Site 3- Meadow Dome
Tyla was a very responsive host. She answered all our questions and was generally available when we needed something. This is a camping experience so if you expect something else, you may be disappointed. There are critters/bugs that get into the dome and if it rains, they need to keep the tent closed which can make it pretty stuffy inside. They opened the windows, though, when we requested it. Also, the outside port-o-potty was pretty full so we didn't use it. It may need emptying more often then weekly if there are lots of guests!

Site 1- Lower Stargazer Tent
Beautiful property and well maintained grounds! Our site was super spacious, the glamping tent was lovely, and there were plenty of cozy blankets. A few things to know before booking: this feels like a regular campground with neighboring sites nearby and staff. The add-on amenities are nice, but I was surprised that basics like extra water and Wi-Fi weren't included. Check-in is also fairly late (4 p.m.) with an 11 a.m. checkout, and there are quite a few campground rules to review at check-in. If you're bringing dogs, one thing to be aware of: when I took my dog for a walk around 7 a.m. on the main road, two off-leash dogs from a neighboring property came running across the field toward us, barking into the road. Their owner finally called them back, but it definitely scared me. Overall, we had a great stay and appreciated the beautiful setting.

Site 5- BYOT (Bring Your Own Tent)
Visited the campground for one night. Stayed at one of the bring-your-own-tent sites. Nice, clean site with a picnic table and shade umbrella. Several options available for sites and equipment. Some sites offered canvas tents, others had tents with panels that allow for seeing the night sky. There is a pretty large geodesic dome “tent” and also a cabin. I didn’t see inside any of the tents but each location was positioned so that it created privacy from the other sites. There was bottled well water available. Two toilet options are on site with one having a hand held shower. Overall the property is very off-grid focused emphasizing experiencing nature and resource conservation. Make sure to arrive before dark as it would be much easier to set up your site and get a feel for the property. Excellent, timely communication with the host. Be advised that there is very limited cell coverage. WiFi is offered at $10 per night but not required.

We loved camping on Tyla's farm! It had everything my kid was looking for in her first camping trip - spacious tents, farm animals (goats, chickens, etc), short hikes on the property, even a fairy garden! The nearby swimming hole was fun, too :)

Was such a wonderful time! Tyla was a wonderful host, the property she has cultivated is stunning with lots of wild flowers and different lodging spots. The stargazer tent was perfect for our group of 5. The goats were so cute! Lots of chickens running around. We went to a swimming hole near bye which was lovely and had lots of river rocks to find. There’s a little cafe where you can get cute crafts, coffee and other snacks, or supplies if anything is forgotten! I definitely will be coming back in the future.

Waterfall Sanctuary is a magical paradise. Tyla is fantastic host. The property has chickens, goats and ducks. There is a trail that loops around the property. I stayed in the Stargazer tent. Laying in bed and watching the stars was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. I would definitely recommend this campground and hoping to go back soon.

We had a lovely stay the Waterfall Sanctuary. We love to camp but had flown into the PNW so didn’t have all our gear. Glamping at the waterfall sanctuary was the perfect camping solution. The Bloom Cafe has all kinds of snacks, drinks, treats, ice, and even “just add water” meals. You could show up with no food and buy what you need there if you wanted. We enjoyed using the grill to cook though. Tyla is a great resource for things to do in the area: hikes, swimming holes, scenic drives, restaurants, etc.

Our stay at the Waterfall Sanctuary was an absolute dream! It is such a beautiful and peaceful space, and it's clear how creative and thoughtful Tyla and team are in crafting the perfect experience for their guests. We loved chatting with the goats and chickens, admiring all the wildflowers, taking a refreshing dunk at the swimming hole, and gazing at the stars through the top of our tent. We will definitely be back and can't recommend this place enough!

Tyla is an amazing host. The waterfalls and swimming hole near there are epic. Highly recommend staying in this spot fun glamping off grid with conveniences of the cafe, board games, books, rechargeable fans and light. They sell fresh water and ice.

We stayed in the stargazer tent. It was very comfortable with a king size bed and several twin beds as well as a dresser. Twyla provides "rag" towels in the dresser for keeping things tidy. It's a lovely, laid back and quiet place. We didn't use the cafe area, so I cannot speak for that. There's short nature trails, hot showers and a porta potty or a small RV style toilet. I would advise anyone who needs to eliminate solids use the porta potty to keep things clean for everyone. Definitely recommend!

We loved staying in a Stargazer tent at Waterfall Sanctuary! We came with friends and two toddlers and had a wonderful time exploring the property, feeding the goats, swimming nearby, and relaxing at the tent sites. The tents are gorgeous and very comfortable - would absolutely come again!

The set up is amazing and such a great concept. The host was super kind. The list of recommendations was very helpful. I think the tents, teepees, and dome would’ve been better. Our cabin was filled with big black carpenter ants. They were all over the bed and near the windows. Since the rest of the place seemed full, we headed out. I’m not sure it all could’ve been cleared for us to rest easy through the night. Again it’s a great concept! Just need a better way to keep out the ants.

What a beautiful place! Tyla has created a great little campsite with all the important comforts of home. The bathroom was nice, and the instructions were very helpful and clear. The site was easy to find when you follow the directions. On our second night everyone else left and we had the whole place to ourselves which was so peaceful! There is absolutely no road noise or anything besides farm animals. We also really appreciated the umbrella when it rained.

Site 1- Lower Stargazer Tent
The owner was nice, the sites themselves were nice and maintained, the toilet is a composting one I think and you have to pull a lever out so you open up the bottom like a porta potty and manually pump the water out two times. The showers looked too gnarly, I looked and then quickly walked away. Toilet side was only because that was necessary. The tent smelled so strongly of lavender essential oil, but looked exactly like the pictures. Whats not photographed is all the chicken poo which if you're familiar with chickens then you would realize thats part of free roaming chickens, if not, there's poo everywhere they go. When you drive up to the place, its junky. It all was pretty junky. And you're not really that far out there, you are, but the neighbors are just right there, you can hear them, you can hear airplanes, it wasnt worth 170$ per night which is what it was after all of the fees and taxes. Nothing romantic imo, if with kids, the bathroom situation sucks.

Overall an expensive and disappointing trip. These are very nice folks trying to build a nice place, for sure, but upkeep and maintenance seems to be a challenge. I would not recommend the cabin due to its location, cramped feeling and rodent issues.

We had a wonderful stay in the Stargazer tent. The campsite was quiet and had all the basic amenities needed for camping. The tent was super cute, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The property is very thought out and has some walking trails, off grid bathrooms, and she also has a plumbed bathroom in the cafe which is close to the stargazer tent. It was a great option for camping with littles- our 15 month old loved the animals! Tyla is a friendly and attentive host and the cafe had everything you could need in case you forget something (which we did). Lots of fun stuff to do in the area! Would highly recommend this hidden gem in Carson!

Tyla’s sanctuary is absolutely lovely. We stayed in a huge sky view tent with super comfy beds totally stocked with towels and comfy bedding. This should also be considered a butterfly sanctuary! There were SO many dancing around the property. Tyla is so sweet and gave us great advice on a swimming hole near by that my dogs and kids couldn’t get enough of. Best camping experience I’ve ever had. We will definitely be back. 💕

Site 9- Quiet Wooded Camp (50ft)
I loved camping here! I would recommend anyone to camp here and definitely recommend checking out Falls Creek Falls as well, and if you go early enough, you might get the trail all to yourself! Beautiful area and wonderful host!!

Waterfall Sanctuary was a dream!
Site 4- Shade Tree Tent
It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and explore. We loved being surrounded by so many sweet animals: goats, ducks, chickens, and countless hummingbirds, just to name a few. One of the highlights of our stay was the sauna experience, especially when paired with the lovely outdoor shower afterward. It was an incredibly refreshing treat. While we’re not new to camping, this was our first trip of the season and we forgot a few essentials. Thankfully, Tyla was amazing and had camp chairs and other useful items available to rent, which made our stay even more comfortable. We also enjoyed the nearby hikes. Falls Creek Falls was a wonderful uphill trek that led to a truly breathtaking waterfall, while Panther Creek Falls was equally beautiful and much shorter. We highly recommend both. Overall, Waterfall Sanctuary was wonderful. We can’t wait to return and share this special place with our family and friends!

Site 1- Lower Stargazer Tent
Lovely spot! Would definitely recommend! Really loved having a picnic at the swimming hole :)
