Past trip
in Enney's Ranch, CaliforniaWe had a wonderful stay at Blue Bonnet Ridge and highly recommend it. Thank you to Kenney and the Enney Ranch for sharing this spectacular place. There is nothing like cooking by the campfire as coyotes yipped in the distance, hearing an owl hoot in the night, and be woken up by a cow or two mooing nearby. The view is simply incredible and even the drive in from the highway is relaxing and scenic. We are avid campers/backpackers in my family, but not having to set up camp and pack up was a welcome alternative. Our site had an outhouse and it was rustic, private, and very clean (good disposal system, no smells at all--trust me, this system is way better than a portapotty or vault toilet). The bed and soft linens sure beat sleeping on a Thermarest or inflatable air mattress, which is what we usually use on our car camping/backpacking trips. We were a family of three from NorCal and met up with another family of three from SoCal, both families from areas where COVID cases are rising, so having the space to gather outdoors and spread out was important to protect each other, and having a ventilated tent was good peace of mind. The other family is not experienced in camping but truly enjoyed their experience. My family tends to head east or north when heading out of town, and even though we do the Nor/So Cal drive several times a year, it had been years since I was spent time in Paso and nearby. So glad we did this! Going to go dig out my old Steinbeck novels now.
Wendy hasn't gone on any trips yet.
