Smaller, Rustic Tent Platform + Large Parking Area
in Balsam Way Campsite - Closed 2023, MaineBeautiful spot, not far from Acadia and Bar Harbor - super easy access to the Southwest Harbor portion of the park and a brief drive to the main sections. The platform was really nice to keep the tent off the ground and the lights and torches around the site added a lot of ambience. Site is a little close to the road, but the road is not a main road and very lightly traveled - I think we only saw about 2 cars per day. Hot pay showers were just a short drive/moderate walk up the road. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, absolutely perfect spot for an Acadia getaway.
