Past trip
in Remote Mountain Camping Platform, North CarolinaMy favorite Hipcamp ever! Private and beautiful. The privy was nice (other than the powder which sorta coats the whole inside) and there are reflectors leading to and from. We saw tons of wildlife, mushrooms and flowers. I cannot wait to go back! Make sure you bring a taller vehicle for piece of mind.
Past trip
Creek Site
in La La Land Farm, VirginiaPerfect for young outdoor learners!
Had a lovely time at La La Land! The hosts were helpful and kind and do everything possible to set campers up for success along their gorgeous creek.( Bringing fresh wood as you arrive, providing a list of local attractions ect.) Bubbling streams and neighing horse are really nice to fall asleep to. The property has a lot to find so and would be amazing for boy scouts or outdoor Ed groups. There are cattle bones strewn across the property as well as animal tracks in the clay. We even found several owl pellets. It's also fun for foragers with oyster mushrooms, wild garlic and more around the property. My one warning would be the distance of the camp from the (very clean) bathroom. It's a little far and uphill on uneven ground. The property is a lot of red clay so in the rain it's very slick. It's totally fine for able bodied groups, but if you search for sites with bathrooms because of mobility issues, this may not be a comfortable spot for you. Otherwise please go give this place a visit!
Past trip
in Cambia Community, VirginiaWe absolutely loved our stay at Cambria Community! The spot was big and mostly private. We saw a couple people, but overall we were on our own. There are a ton of swings and such around. We spent most of our time in the hammock. The bathroom is far from private, but we honestly didn't mind, just a heads up for those it would bother. Seriously go check it out!
Nicki hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.

in Bears Den Campground, VirginiaHazel River - Harmony Tree Farm
in Harmony Tree Farm, VirginiaPeaceful mushroom parasise
We really enjoyed our time and Harmony Tree Farm! The river was gorgeous and our dogs loved running around the woods and river. The area is gorgeous with mature trees and a variety of mushrooms. The portojohn was the cleanest we have ever seen and you know that can make or break a tripđ. During the day there is some machinary/vehicle noise, but at night it's peaceful and remote. Cell service is spotty so make sure you get directions from the host ahead of time. We will definitely be back!
