Site 2 "Star Gazer 2"
in Enchanted Circle Campground (E<<), New MexicoTruly enchanted mountain oasis!
First let me start by saying this place is unlike any other common campground. From the moment we arrived we saw half a dozen wild horses running by! Our campsite had 360 degree views of forests and mountains and not another soul in sight! We had so much room it was great to let our kids and Labrador happily run around. The next closest campsite was about 200 yards away and we couldn't even see them until we walked down to spotless port-a-potty. We had plenty of flat space to set up our tent and the pergola with table and chairs was a much appreciated amenity. Cooking was easy with their awesome wood fire grill and cooking utensils, but I still mainly used my propane camp stove. The fire pit was HUGE and they conveniently delivered firewood right to our campsite. Sitting by the fire we could see the sky full of stars and sometime around midnight a few of the horses quietly strolled up eating grass nearby. I couldn't believe how incredibly quiet it was here especially with the proximity to the main road. No matter what campsite I'd recommend walking or driving around to explore because there is so much to appreciate on this property. My kids and I enjoyed saying hello to the horses, pigs and goats and my son loved fishing in the beautiful ponds. We had a lot of fun at the "play area" swinging on the giant log swing, playing volleyball, and discovered our dog is really good at tetherball lol! This was exactly the kind of magical camping experience I hoped to share with my family. We made so many great memories and can't wait to come back and share it with more family and friends! Thank you Landon and Sofia for being such gracious hosts and creating such a truly enchanted campground.
