Another great experience at camp nauvoo in the books. Greg and Laurie manage their land and run their camp with an attention to safety that I really appreciate. We will be back next year!

The camp hosts were incredible, and the amenities were clean and many as compared to a typical camping experience. The bathrooms have no ADA stall and no gender inclusive options except a far away porta potty. No choice but for me to do all the toddler toileting because there was no space for that in the menâs bathroom. Not relaxing in that regard. If youâre fat like me, youâll find the larger picnic tables more comfortable and seating elsewhere unacceptable. The owner is very accommodating and might be able to help with seating needs ahead of time. The cots in our canvas tent were flimsy and unsupportive. I recommend bringing an air mattress no matter your size. The campgrounds are in a beautiful setting, but the camp overall needs some repairs. Benches are unstable in common spaces, the kids playground is repaired with tape. It looks like it was super cool in its heyday! Now, itâs still naturally beautiful but outdated. The camp has a Native American theme, which is typical of the area, but problematic and cringey nonetheless. While the owner is friendly with people of all ages, he was shouty with kids when they broke rules that kids are bound to break. He also made a joke about my 2 year old getting undressed, and that made me uncomfortable. I prefer more professional interactions, but still found him friendly overall. As far as amenities and overall experiences go, Iâd say it was a great trip. I found the overall value to be high and am excited for our return.

(Site 9)
This was a beautiful campground in a beautiful setting. I will caution folks that the sites are very close together, so it has very low privacy, even for camping. I don't know what the host role is, but people were loud beyond quiet hours and nothing was done. Also, we managed the road to the camp just fine, but it should come with an advisory that the 2.5 mi road up is a very small one lane road on a steep grade with two-way traffic. It could be tough for an old car or someone who isn't comfortable with yielding to uphill traffic on very steep, winding, roads.
Melanie hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
