Past trip
in Pine Grove Cobb Resort, CaliforniaConfusing situation. Property is named Forest tent camping on hipcamp and in the confirmation email (even though it is named Pine Grove Cobb Resort now in the review process ???). Anyway, it was termed Forest tent camping in the confirmation email. Google map coordidnates led us to Pine grove. We asked a randoom guy on the pine grove campsite if he knew forest tent camping. no. After that we asked a woman, who came out ouf a employees only labeled exit at the pool kiosk if this place is forest tent camping. no. does she know such a place? no. Ok, we drove further to a gas station nearby. No one has ever heard of such a place. We went to the super market nearby. Talked to 4 people, nobody had ever heard of forest tent camping. Because the market had free wifi we could access the profile of the host and a woman called him with her cell phone (we had no working cell phone in the us). He explained to her that pine grove is forest tent camping. Ok, after 50 minutes we drove back to pine grove. Host arrived after us by car. We told him about the situation and that the change in names is confusing. He just responded with "well you are here now". Unfortunately, the pool was already closed because it took us over 50 minutes to find the place.
Camp site was ok. Facilities were very basic.

(Dispersed site)
awesome camp site with beautiful new restrooms (modern and very clean!), a kitchen for everybody's use and a nice terrace to eat or chill!
AND the most amazing part is for sure the spa area with a pool and a hot tub as well as a sauna. Everything is very clean and beautifully made - especially the hot tub, where you have a nice overview over the mountains.
A big plus as well: The host and the other people there were really nice and very helpful.
The only thing you have to consider is that the way to get there is quite a ride and the road partly in pretty bad condition. You drive about 45 minutes when leaving the main road on a curvy road containing many holes as well as ups and downs. You have to drive very slow and it took us lots of gas. Make sure you have enough. The last part then is a pavel road.
