One of the best camping trips we have been on! Charlie is an amazing host. My son loved it so much he asked me if we could connect our home to our camp trailer and take it to Charlie's forever...The imagination of a 6 year old. Lol
The property is absolutely beautiful. 40+ acres surrounded by other properties so you dont need to worry about neighbors. There is a little river that flows through the property that's surrounded by cattails. Something the littles can splash in or you can take the opportunity to get some scenic photos.
If you dont have a love for animals this isn't the place for you. In the evening the horses get to roam. They would come up, check out the camp and let you pet them. Adi, one of the two pup's was a frequent at our spot. He would greet us when we returned and spend most of the evening playing with kids or laying out in the field guarding the family from the coyotes you can hear off in the distance (never saw one, can only hear them..dont freak out moms, your kids are safe).
Charlie was great with the kids. He has a rockwall set up and some large haybales for archery. One evening he even took the time to teach a handful of curious kids how to milk a goat and was patient enough to let them try. We invited charlie up to our spot a few nights for some drinks and dinner.. he's talented with the guitar and can sing too.
To get to North Beach Bear lake it was a 10 minute drive from Charlie's. Absolutely recommend this spot, it will be our forever camping spot for Bear Lake.
Past trip
in Utah Lakeside Retreat, UtahWe had a great time staying here. The water was about 10-15 minutes of a walk, due to lower water levels. But there are trails leading down to it, so it's easy to get there. It was quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view of the stars at night. We had a large group and had plenty of room for multiple campers. There are some cactus on the property so make sure you have a good pair of shoes if you're planning on exploring. Would definitely stay here again.
Kylee hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
