Maple Knoll
in Savage Acres on Craig Creek, VirginiaMagical spot
This place was pure magic! We had an entire field to ourselves under the shade of a magnificent maple tree. There was another group camped down in the forest so we saw them a few times but it was no bother at all. The swimming hole was so beautiful we cancelled our plans and spent the day swimming and hanging at the creek. We even went for a night swim. The fireflies lit up the trees making them look like they were sparkling! We have a 24 ft. Travel trailer and there was more than enough space for it. Make sure to take the first turn onto the property otherwise itâs a very tight turn over to the Maple Knoll from the driveway. We will definitely make our way back here again and would highly recommend.
Woodlands & Rugged Hillsides
in Burdoc Farms , KentuckyPeaceful and picturesque
We werenât sure what to expect on our first Hipcamp experience and it blew our expectations out of the water. What a delightful experience! Sara was so hospitable and the location was picturesque. We camped in a grassy field next to an old tobacco barn that has been converted to a wedding venue. All the lights were on at the barn with beautiful old chandeliers and lots of little shabby chic touches. When you walk down the road a bit you come to a platform where we watched the sun go down over the hills. In the morning I did yoga on the same platform. There is another Airbnb on the property and I think other campsites so there is the potential to see other people but we did not see a soul. It was just what we needed after being crammed into tiny campsites with no room to relax!
