Parking Spot @ The Nomad Village
in The Mt Shasta Nomad Village!, CaliforniaC2T Ranch on the Saline - Primitive
in C2T Ranch on the Saline River, KansasBeautiful ranch. 360 degree view: 75% sky, 25% epic cliffs and rivers. The land felt secluded without feeling isolated. Cooled off in the river, made a fire. Great stay. Highly recommended.
RV Parking #1
in Horse Shoe Bend Amite River Camp, LouisianaOverall it was fine for what I needed. As others have mentioned, the listing could be more clear that the shower is just a garden hose and the campsite itself is basically just a grassy parking space off the driveway, but I was aware of that going in.
I was, however, a little caught off guard that the "toilet" was just a 5-gal Home Depot bucket. Not my thing. As someone traveling and sleeping in my car, it's a slight step up from a Walmart parking lot, but probably not worth the $50+ dollars it ended up being after fees.
That said, I do believe if you have a different set up and needs, and have more time to hang out and relax, it could be a very nice stay. The lake looked cool, there's a fire pit, and an extension cord for power that runs to the site.
Maggie's Musical Farm
in Maggie's Musical Farm, FloridaMaggie & Mike were an absolute dream! They were incredibly hospitable, providing a clean porta-potties, warm outdoor shower stalls, and a shared kitchen area with a fridge, some appliances, and complimentary coffee. We had a meal together, traded songs, and they shared their insights and anecdotes from their years touring as a songwriting duo. They know how to live life to the fullest!
Scooter Haven Country Club
in Scooter Haven Country Club, FloridaGreat camp. Everyone was easy going and friendly. Louis the owner, and managers Brad & Fran all introduced themselves and were very nice. The clubhouse and ship memorial were both really cool, and the manager/bartender Magic had plently of great stories to tell. To echo another review, there were some of Trump stickers and conferate flags, but no one brought up race or politics, and I felt comfortable and welcome (I'm a white male). I stayed during the week in the tent area and it was pretty quite with only a few other campers. Also watch out for ticks!
