We had a fantastic time at Sapillo Creek. We expected primitive conditions so we were not disappointed at all. We stayed in campsite 1 which was fantastic as the kids were able to play in the creek while the adults relaxed in the shade. There is however no real shade at the campsite. I wouldn’t recommend arriving at night as the sight could be hard to find. Lastly, there is a fair walk from the car to the campsite. We brought a wagon to haul our stuff so it wasn’t any issue.
