See Canyon Fruit Ranch
in See Canyon Fruit Ranch, Californiasuch a sweet stay! our kids had the best time exploring and playing. susie was so hospitable and the location was great -- close to everything, but still a sky full of stars!
Past trip
Speakeasy Lodge
in Cuyama Badlands, CaliforniaJim, jill & gypsy were great!
We camp every year with 5 or 6 families for Easter, and this year we tried the Speakeasy Lodge. It was great -- rough and remote enough to feel like camping, but with some conveniences (running water, toilet, stove, pots & pans, fridge) that made it easy with young kids. An easy drive from Los Angeles. Jim and his dogs Jill and Gypsy were so warm and welcoming. Did have a few rattlesnake spottings, but there were 8 kids and 2 dogs running wild and no one got close enough for it to be scary. There are mice, so pack food in plastic bins -- anything left out is up for grabs!

best to go in spring, when the creek is still running and it is not too hot. oh, and the campground host was a disaster...
gina hasn't gone on any trips yet.
