Past trips
Havilah Pines homestead
in Havilah Pines homestead, CaliforniaGreat escape...
Danny was a very accommodating host! We loved our stay at Havilah Pines Homestead. Site #2 was just large enough for our family of four and another family of four (combined four adults and four boys 10 years old and younger). The archery lesson and use of the bow & arrows for the day was amazing. The site had ample shade and fresh water via a hose. The town of Havilah was fun and interesting too! There is a small museum, with a wonderfully friendly docent from the Forestry Service. Nearby is also a great little ghost town on the way to Lake Isabella. Driving to Kernville and up to the Trail of 100 Giants in Sequioa National Forest only took about 60 - 90 minutes. There's also other fun stops near by along the Kern.
Joshua Tree Rock House
in Thunderbird Lodge Retreat, CaliforniaNothing was surprising and everything was very pleasant. The expected insects and wildlife was not too invasive; occasional ants, bees and the sound of coyotes at night made for a perfect Hipcamp getaway! My boys and wife loved their time at the Rock House!
