Located in the national sequoia forest, Havilah pines homestead is a unique place, we are in the middle of a canyon, rural and remote but not too remote, do note that there is no cell service here but we do offer wifi service for a fee. the closest town and Lake is about 20 minutes away. we have the cleanest air in Kern, blue skies most days and stars during the night like you have never seen them in the city! it can get toasty during the day, but once that sun goes behind the mountain it cools off that some times you want to put something on! We are a micro farm growing organic food and practicing non GMO sustainable organic farming methods even our animals eat only organic non GMO feed, among our livestock are chickens, turkeys and guinea fowl, they happily free range on the homestead and produce delicious eggs, if you haven't eaten eggs like free range ones then you must try them! the taste is light years different than the store bought ones... It is a quite and peaceful place(except the roosters and guineas), at night you hear crickets and frogs and early in the morning wake up to a pleasant tune of wild bird's symphony.Just one hour away from the Trail of 100 Hundred Giants, and 20 minutes to white water rafting, boating, fishing, wind sailing at the lake. you'll find our little piece of heaven in the remote canyon of the National Sequoia Forest, with the smell of pines and mountain views in all directions.  This is a homestead, we have roosters, guinea fowl and turkeys that go off at different hours of the day, so be aware that you will get a free early morning alarm clock! there are also many other forest birds which is a joy to hear in the morning. We have a dog named Gruffy and if needed he will be tied during your stay so no worries about bringing pets, just let us know ahead of time, but he does bark at times as all dogs do :) We grow organic food and practice organic, non-GMO methods. We offer firewood, which is whatever available so it can be almond or pine, pine is basic wood for a camp fire and almond is great for cooking, smoking and BBQ as well as it burns longer because it's a hardwood. Please note the way to the farm is a quarter of a mile on a dirt road which is somewhat bumpy and uneven but definitely ok for any sedan, any vehicle that is not bigger than 20 foot RV can make it here no problem.

Cozy
Danny’s camp site is a cozy little spot about 35 minutes off the highway. Found comfort in pets wandering the property and friendly voices of mountain-neighbors could be heard in the distance until evening. On the other hand, even now in early winter there is foliage in all directions, offering privacy and a sense of being immersed in nature. Thanks for sharing your space, hope to return someday.

Lovely Homestead Camping
I booked Danny’s campsite for the weekend to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and we had a blast! It’s a lovely spot, secluded with plenty of shade and the most perfect fire pit. We brought our tent, a table, and some chairs and were set! Danny provides a hose hook up and outdoor bathroom which is super helpful. The lake and hot springs are only 20 mins from the site - plenty of fishing opportunities! You’ll be welcomed by many kittens, dogs, chickens and turkeys. We woke up to so many lovely birds singing. It truly is so peaceful. Danny offers wifi, firewood, and herb bundles (for cooking) at an affordable additional price. If you’re camping through the fall/winter - bundle up!! 10/10 recommended, we’ll be back.

I really love this place. The campsite is incredibly peaceful, with no one around, so there's no need to worry about disturbing others or being disturbed. The area is surrounded by dense tree cover, so you won't be bothered by the morning sun. The host provides firewood and is very friendly. He also thoughtfully set up a water hose for us to easily clean things and put out fires. In summary, highly recommended.
