Past trip
in Woody Haven, TexasMy wife and I had a really nice time overnight at Woody Haven. We felt very secluded where we picked our spot to set up camp. It's very primitive with no water, electricity or toilets. We prefer this type of camping though. We parked the truck at the top of the road and just took our backpacks and cooler with us and hiked a few minutes down until we found a good place for us. Overall we had wonderful and relaxing time and I would recommend this place to anyone that doesn't need any amenities and just likes to rough it for a night or two. We would love to come back again sometime in the near future!

Past trip
Cloud Hollow Ranch
in Cloud Hollow Ranch, TexasI had a wonderful time camping at the Cloud Hollow Ranch. It was very quiet and private and I really enjoyed hiking around and exploring the 80 acres. Lots of interesting and cool things to check out. Ryan was an excellent host and very accommodating. He drove me around and showed me all of the different spots that I could camp at. I would love to come back again soon with my family. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to camp, this ranch is perfect. Highly recommend!

Site 7 - Prickly Acres Ranch
in Prickly Acres Ranch, TexasMy brother and I had a very nice time camping here. The host was great and let us set up camp back in the woods since we needed trees for our hammocks. Very quiet and relaxing the entire time. Never heard any other campers. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

I had an awesome time camping 2 nights solo at the Colonel Burns Ranch. At over 1,100 acres there is so much area to explore and you have so many options of where to to set up camp. Oaks galore! I set up my hammock out in a nice area full of oak trees off of one of the paths. So much wildlife around. I could hear the coyotes and hogs all around me at night. Saw quite a few deer in the area running around. This ranch was exactly what I was looking for in a campsite. Extremely primitive and remote and felt like to was completely isolated from everything. If you're looking for a place to rough it without amenities, no shower, electric, toilet or running water, then this is the place for you! This is true Texas primitive camping ! This is not a state park, so if you're afraid of a little adventure then I suggest you stick with glamping at state parks if you're scared of going off grid and having a real Texas camping experience. The hosts were wonderful and made me feel so welcomed and at home. I got to tour a lot of the area and I honestly cannot wait to come back again and enjoy another adventure out here! I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for an awesome camping trip without all the noise and people.

Rancho Ciela Plata
in Rancho Ciela Plata, TexasPast trip
in Fisherman's Cove, TexasVery beautiful and peaceful!
I really enjoyed my stay at Fisherman's Cove and would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to get away from the city and enjoy some peace and quiet. Kayaking was really fun and there seems to be a ton of fish in the water. I didn't have any luck catching anything, but I'm really not a great fisherman to be honest. It did rain a lot during my stay, but it didn't bother me and actually cooled things down. I had a very peaceful night's sleep in my hammock and woke to birds singing and fish splashing in the water. I would for sure come back again and bring the wife and kids next time!

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at our campsite. Laura was great and accommodating and made us feel at home. Swimming and kayaking was perfect and we thoroughly had a blast. The price to book is definitely worth it because you won't find a place like this anywhere else in the area. I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back again soon!

I had a very relaxing time for two nights at the Weber Ranch. Chuck was an excellent host and drove around to show me the fishing pond and the Medina River. The site I was given was perfect with large, shady pecan trees all around. There are some amazing views to see if you feel like hiking to the top of any of the large hills. If you're looking for something quiet, peaceful and primitive then this is your place. I would definitely like to come back again.

I had a great and relaxing time during my overnight stay at the Colorado River Camp. Francisco, the host was excellent at giving directions to the place when I had gotten a little turned around. Beautiful views of the river and lots of fish, even though I didn't manage to catch anything. There are horses walking around but they never bothered me. I really enjoyed my time there and would definitely go back again. Highly recommend!

Rancho Ciela Plata
in Rancho Ciela Plata, TexasQuiet and peaceful camping.
I had a terrific time here! Was private, primitive and felt secluded like I was hoping for. The host was great and directions were very easy to follow. There are plenty of places at campsite #4 to pitch a tent and lots of room if you have several others in your group. I definitely recommend checking out this place if you are looking to rough it for a night or two under the stars on a beautiful piece of Texas land.

Secluded Serenity Pond
in Bouldin Food Forest, TexasQuiet and relaxing campsite.
I really enjoyed my overnight stay at the serenity pond. Very quiet and peaceful and was just what I was looking for. Ben, the host seems like a great guy and his dog Monty is a good boy. There is nice new looking fire pit that was perfect for my night under the clear night skies. I woke to a beautiful sunrise. I felt extremely relaxed my entire stay. I definitely recommend coming out here if you're needed a place to get away from all of the noise of the city.
Peaceful Meadow
in Phrog and Munkey Camping, TexasPeaceful and relaxing.
I had a very nice and relaxing time camping on Polly's land. Polly was great at giving directions and I found the place with no problem. I camped on top of the hill where I had a wonderful view that went for miles. I highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a quiet and secluded place to camp.
Site 4
in Camp Chorriola, TexasPerfect for primitive camping!
I had a great time at Camp Chorriola! Jennifer, the host was very friendly and accommodating. She drove me around the property and showed me everything and let me set up camp wherever I wanted. I picked a nice wooded area with lots of oaks since I was hammock camping. It was very primitive and secluded which is what I was looking for. There is a good sized pond to fish and swim in, but it was too cold and rainy to swim the day I went. There's plenty of trails to hike around on and places to explore. If you're looking for a nice primitive place to camp then this place is perfect. I will definitely like to come back again soon.
