Past trip
in Organic Apple Orchard and Farm, MichiganRelax and watch the stars
This site was exactly as expected! Be sure to bring some shade if youâre staying during the summer months as the picnic/camp area is directly in the sun for pretty much the whole day. The farm workers and farm manager were perfectly nice and the blueberries were very welcomed. I came here wanting a place to relax and give my pup some space to play and we basically had free reign of the place which my dog enjoyed. There was a woman doing a âbat surveyâ at night and she was running up and down the farm while we watched the stars and sat by the fire. She unexpectedly stopped by with a bat in her hands to share her excitement! It was all very cute! All in all a great getaway for stargazing, watching some shooting stars and a quick trip to Grand Mere State Park, which is an excellent place to hike and swim and also is dog friendly. Would definitely like to come back here in the fall.
Past trip
in Indiana Dunes National Park, IndianaI've been to Dunewood a few times before this review. Once with friends and a couple of times solo camping with my dog. It's a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The spots are fairly close together, but once the leaves fill out in late Spring they provide some shelter. There are modern showers and bathrooms for convenience. It's not a glamorous location, but about a mile away is Lake Michigan and the Beverly Shores beach which is dog friendly and super pretty. I recommend this spot for a night or two away from the city or if you're traveling and need a place to stay. Indiana Dunes is not far and is a great place for hiking.
Past trip
in Hiawatha National Forest, MichiganDickie H.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
If you want to be in the middle of nowhere I would recommend this spot. That's exactly what I was looking for! But..when I got there and the mosquitoes were constantly swarming my body and the other RV campers told me of the wolf pack that had been circling the site I had some other thoughts. There's a 35 acre lake for swimming and boating and some giant snapping turtles that seemed to be invading the area when we were there. I'm 100% sure my dog had a growl off with a wolf in the woods and I threw rocks to keep them at bay. We were going to spend 2 night tent camping, but ended up one night and slept in my car till the morning. I will say it's definitely secluded and gorgeous. Go check it out, but sleep indoors and bring lots of bug spray
Dickie hasn't gone on any trips yet.

Fernside
in The Blue Cottage, MichiganThis spot is super cute! Close to beaches and all the good stuff this area has to offer. Super comfy tent and bed. I would recommend darker colors for rugs and bed covers, especially after the rain and traveling with dogs. I couldnât help the muddy paws! Had a warm shower and would totally go back here again!

Such a great location. Very private and quiet. Loved the sounds of cranes at night! Super awesome location in the UP and not too far of a drive up to Lake Superior for the day. Definitely would come back!
