Dena B.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
The campground was easy to find and there was helpful signage directing us in from the road. The bathrooms were pretty clean and well stocked the 2 times we used them. The showers looked fine, but we didn't get a chance to use them.
If you are looking for a wilderness type of experience, this is probably not the campground for you. It's less woodsy and more residential feeling than what we are used to. We are from Central New York, near the Adirondacks, and usually camp in more wooded and private areas, but we were working nearby and wanted something close that wasn't an RV park, and this was the closest to what we needed. We were careful to select the most private site (site 18), based on the map as well as the advice of the owner. I texted several times, mentioning that I had reserved site 18. However, when we arrived, someone else was all set up on our site, so we were told to "just pick any open site." Most of the sites were pretty close together, not really our scene, but it was getting dark, so we set up at one of the first sites. I don't know what number it was. It would be helpful if the sites had some sort of markers with the site number.
I read that they reserve the right to change sites, but if that's the case, perhaps it should be listed as first come first serve to manage expectations.
Also, website lists the bundles of firewood at $7, but fyi they are $10. Not a biggie, just not what we expected.
We ended up sleeping elsewhere the second night even though we paid for two nights. We had to work and would be back after midnight and with sites so close together, we didn't want to disrupt the other campers.
$100 a night for such close sites seems high to us, but maybe to be expected closer to NYC.
Overall, a decent place. Just not our idea of camping.
