5 acres on river near DOOR county
in 5 Secluded Acres on River, WisconsinExcellent site with more than enough room for the dog to play. She loved having the extra acres to play off leash. The views are excellent and well worth getting up at dawn! Craig went over and beyond, host with the most. We sucked at fishing, it's been a few years and we forgot most of what we knew, lol!
Waterfront near Elkhart Lake
in Pondfront RV Site near Road America, WisconsinRick's home is a beautiful waterside respite from crowded campsites. The views from our site were surprising; a peaceful algae free pond, long wooded walks, and a small mowed park to fish from. Weather and too short a visit kept us from trying the kayak or paddleboat. Lots of firewood was available. Rick told us about the available hiking in the area. Adjacent to Kettle Moraine forest, close to Elkhart Lake amenities, and an hour from Point Beach and the sites along Lake Michigan. Lovely just to stay put, or as a base to others places to visit. We're planning on returning next year!
Shady Acres (Camper/RV/Motorhome)
in Shady Acres, WisconsinLoved finding a large site close to the closed state park campgrounds in Door County. The property is beautiful, lots of early summer mixed trees and wildflowers. Freshly mowed grass and room for our dog to play.
Site 2 - Tranquility at Chase Creek
in Tranquility at Chase Creek, WisconsinBeautiful option to covid closures
We had a lovely three nights. Lucky us, no rain, great breeze left us with low bug count. Host provided free firewood, we had an ax with us so splitting was no problem. Dan allowed our dog off leash. She really loved not being stuck on a chain! Biggest campsite EVER, lol! Easy access to northern forest roads for scenic drives and explorations. I would certainly use again. Only downside, since property is still under construction, drive route was a tad too too narrow for our full size truck and wee trailer to corner. Bit of a radius hang up on there; average trucks and cars and tenters would have no problem.
