Site 1 - Tent Camping in the majestic trees
in Camping at Lazy River Farm, VirginiaMore than i could have expected!
Caroline's farm is absolutely amazing. It was exactly what I was hoping for and even more, just what I needed. Caroline is a dream of a woman and greeted me on her Gator with a straw hat and a wine glass of water and it made my entire day. She then took me around her property, showed me the site, the farm animals and the river. It was more than I expected and she made me feel right at home and has a way of talking to you that makes you feel like old friends.
While the hill up to the site is a bit of a doozy, getting to go up with her first and have her show me the ropes, made me feel at ease when I did it myself. Just put your car in AWD and as long as your car isn't too low, you'll be fine.
The river is absolutely phenomenal as well. I was visiting town to see Lexington, but ended up spending most of the day down by the river instead. The river is very secluded and afforded so much privacy. It was the perfect place to decompress, watch the minnows and cool off in the water.
I've told my friends I left a bit of my heart there. I'm hoping to come back and visit again with my husband (or alone again!) and I'll dream about her land until that happens.
