in Live Deliberately, ArkansasYou must arrive early to get a first-come first-served site, the A loop is the way to go since you are the closest to Lake McDonald.
Past trip
in Dash Point State Park, WashingtonEasy to snag a site on a weekday in the summer without a reservation but not over the weekend. After hours you can still get a first-come first-served site site without a problem.
Past trip
in Yellowstone National Park, WyomingAsya S.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
The line to get a campsite is quite long in the summer months, the day we were there they did not release most of the sites until after 10:00 am and we had arrived at 8:30 am.
Past trip
in Grand Teton National Park, WyomingArrive early to get a first-come first-served site. These sites are spacious and seem to be further apart than some other campgrounds in Grand Teton National Park. There is a short trail down to the public boat launch, gorgeous sunset views over Jackson Lake!
Past trip
in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, MichiganThe sites along the lake are gorgeous. We stayed at campsite #3 and felt like we had our own private beach! Beautiful sunsets, tasty blueberries, and warm sand!
Past trip
in Badlands National Park, South DakotaThe views towards the Badlands are amazing. Campsite #3 was awesome, highly recommend the very first few sites closest to the entrance as they have the least obstructed views without other campsites in your way.
Asya hasn't gone on any trips yet.

Dauenhauer Family Campground
in Dauenhauer Family Campground, OregonRolling hills, Lakota Tipi
in Buffalo Dreams, South DakotaThe location is gorgeous, filled with wildflowers and fields that make it seem like you are miles from civilization. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area, walking by the prairie dogs, seeing the horses as we drove in, and searching for buffalo with Ed and Lucille. Ed and Lucille were great hosts and it was an honor to learn from them about the land and history of the area. We were excited to help with putting up the Tipi but unfortunately we started the process as a storm was coming in and a gust came up and ripped the fabric so we were unable to stay the night in it and ended up staying in the tent that we had along with us. We hope to be able to come back one day to experience the Lakota Tipi in the rolling hills of South Dakota, it is truly a beautiful area.
