Past trip
in Creekside Brazos Rock Camp & Kayak, TexasQuiet and fun filled weekend trip.
Wow what a great place. Peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed for a nice little get away. Def would recommend. We enjoyed the beautiful fields and creek near the camp site. A nice dirt road that went in a loop so we could take the dogs for a nice walk. We booked a kayak trip. Highlight of the weekend for sure. We drove to the end location. They followed us there and took us back to the launch site. We kayaked down river and was able to get in our vehicle and come back. That was nice because we didnât have to wait on a shuttle.

As always such a peaceful stay. Never any issues camping here. So glad to see the zoo trails as an official hiking location for all to enjoy.
Past trip
Goddess Tipi Tent
in Red Sky Ranch, TexasA great little get pack in pack out location. Off grid of sorts and just as to be expected with primitive type camping. There was a large cart to use for bringing your gear. Bed was super comfy. Itâs Texas so bring the necessities to prepare for the weather and bugs. We appreciated the citronella candle and mosquito wipes that were at the site when we arrived. If you have a keep it simple and open mind outlook, you will enjoy your time. If you go craving the creature comforts of home like hot showers, this one may not be for you. It was nice the be able to just breath and unwind.
Past trip
in Lake Cisco Campground, TexasIt was fun to imagine what the area was like in its hay day. We have a 31ft pull behind travel trailer and was able to get in with a little maneuvering, but relatively easy. There are a lot of little grass burrs, not stickers that hurt. So be wary of that if you have a pup thatâs fuzzy. There are a couple of German Shepardâs that roam the property. Super cute and very very friendly. Thor was our tour guide the two days we were there. I felt very comfortable having him with us as we explored. He will come over and hang out at your campsite and then go find the other campers to hang out with, then make his round back to us. There is a little girl dog thatâs 9 months old she is super sweet too but has a puppy mentality. Thor put her in her place when she scared our little dog. Bring boots and jeans to go explore the abandoned zoo. We did not see any snakes but itâs Texas and they are all over. Itâs a primitive area so donât expect manicured lawns and cleared paths. Itâs a get back to nature kind of stay. Very happy with our time and canât wait to go back.
Past trip
Site 2 - Big Rocks on the Brazos
in Big Rocks on the Brazos, TexasVery nice property, clean and manicured. lots of room to maneuver our 31ft trailer into the spot. The river was a short walk from all of the sites. We stayed in site 2, make sure you have a long sewer hose and water hose if your connections on your rig are in the middle instead of the back like ours and you are staying in site 2. If you have your hook ups in the back you shouldnât have any issues. Plenty of space to set up chairs etc in the grass, next to your camper. Steel fire pit and picnic table can be moved to accommodate your set up. This is a great place to just hang out at the campsite and enjoy the great outdoors. Plenty of room to throw a ball around. No stickers down around the campsite we were in or on the walk to the river access. Up at the top near the dumpster there were so keep on the road. We went to a local farm homestead open to the public called Homestead Craft Village and picked up some local cheese and veggies for our burgers. Great place to visit but plan to spend all day there if you go and check out all of the places on the homestead....Fresh market, Gristmill, blacksmith shop, cheese cave and a lot more. It was a short drive and we were glad have been able to buy some great fresh local groceries for our camping meals. We will def be going back to camp here at Big Rocks on the Brazos, nice little place to get away.
Amberlee hasn't gone on any trips yet.
