The lucky ones get a glimpse of a Moose.Maybe you prefer Biking or golfing in Carrabassett at Sugarloaf, hiking in Coos Canyon in Weld, Whitewater Rafting in the Forks Certain times of the year folks take tubes floating down the Sandy River. The property is equipped with an outdoor kitchen, gazebo with fire pit in the center, firewood bins full for purchase as an add on through hip camp, two kayaks with life vest no extra charge to use them just make sure that after they have been used they are rinsed off and put back into the original placement. property has power a functional toilet in the cabin along with a shower, also there is a Porter potty insert outhouse. Felt very much alone and removed from everything (which was what we were going for :) ) Close to the lake, which was beautiful. We just spent three nights at Dan’s wild and beautiful camp. It’s set on a peninsula on the pond, with sweeping views of the water and the mountains beyond. We enjoyed listening to the loons, walking the moss covered paths, and kayaking. Very peaceful. Thank you Dan for sharing this special place.

We had a great trip. The cabins were even better than we expected, lots of helpful extras. The privacy was the best part, didn't see anyone or even hear any cars. The dogs came home exhausted and my son had a great time catching fish off the dock and shoreline.

Beautiful and peaceful. Loved waking up with the loons. Kids had a blast playing with sticks and rocks. As others have noted, the trail is rocky and full of roots. We had to keep our main cooler in the car, and then use a smaller cooler bag to carry things back and forth. Others advise packing light and we could have done a slightly better job of that but there's only so much you can leave behind with 4 people including 2 kids.
The mattresses on the beds were dirty and the floor of the cabin by the lake was as well, so just plan to wash everything after you're done. We had lightweight sleeping bags and air mattresses to put on top of the bed mattresses, and that worked pretty well. Wr also had a sleeping pad which was more comfortable but way too heavy for that trail so I would not bring that again. We brought a tent but there really wasn't much room to pitch one - maybe 20 square feet in one spot but otherwise the ground was too uneven with too many rocks and stumps.
I don't think it's pictured but there was a picnic table when we were there, right next to the fire pit. I'd highly recommend bringing a hammock, especially if you have kids
With the comments about bugs I was worried but it wasn't as bad as I expected. I've had worse but experiences in metro Boston! It's the worst where you park your car so we had head nets for there and part of the walk back. We did get some bites but they weren't driving us absolutely crazy. Just lots of bug spray and long clothes!

Weekend Trip to Camp whiskey throttle
We had a lovely time at camp WT. I love camping but my husband prefers luxuries like a shower and AC, so this was the perfect compromise. We spent most of our time at the outdoor kitchen. It is easy to find, some nearby properties but still very private. There are stores near by if you forget anything. I even saw my first moose! We highly recommend.

Whiskey Throttle was such a great spot! The cabin was perfect for our family of 3, it was so nice to have heat and electricity with the cooler nights. We loved the covered fire pit, relaxing outside in the rain was amazing after a day out in the trails. Trail access was awesome, we took our side by side around the area and out to Errol. The outdoor kitchen was so fun too. This property is really well thought out and great to enjoy the outdoors with some comforts we don’t get while tent camping. So many extras that we didn’t expect, we loved it and can’t wait to come back.

I had the BEST two nights staying at the Bird’s Nest! It was so beautiful and cozy. The weather held out long enough to enjoy walking through the trails on the property, and building a fire in the wood stove was perfect for the rainy and chilly evening. Anthony's venue made one of the most memorable trips possible for my friends and I, as we made space away from our day jobs.
The camp is remote, scenic, and close by to most necessary resources (there is a LaPerle's market a few minutes drive away with everything we could imagine!). Additionally, there is a beautiful waterfall just 15-20 minutes away called Beaver Brook Falls with small trails and picnic benches.
Despite NH being on drought warning and our group not being able to enjoy a campfire, we felt no setbacks in our plans. On top of this, Anthony provided excellent turnaround in communications and incredibly gracious accommodations.
Excellent camp, even more amazing host. I would recommend this hipcamp 1000/10!

Beautiful place, but watch out...
Definitely some great camping in the area. Been going to Natanis point Campground all my life, and I ventured off to remote sites- One of them being on Lower Pond. This past weekend (July 22-27, 2026) I took the family and the dogs camping on lower pond's singular remote site (at least on DeLorme's gazetteer), and it was absolutely stunning and relaxing-for the most part. The only thing I would suggest to others, is to block off the entrance into the site(I used my personal vehicle). I had 3 older people(definitely 60+ years old), who obviously didn't understand boundaries or respect, literally walk right through my site with the dogs and everything like we weren't even there. "I have been coming here over 50 years" is what they will tell you, like it justifies their actions (huge eye roll). I had one even tell me I had no right to be there, and that it is a "state park"! (Even though the CAMPsite is CLEARLY marked more than once, I held a legit fire permit FOR the site, and on public reserved land-which hugely differs from state parks). Those 3 rude people were literally my ONLY complaints. EVERYONE else who ventured in to see if the site was empty immediately turned around, hassle free, seeing we were there. Great place though, for fishing, hiking, kayaking or just a peaceful campfire(WITH permit). Just watch out for people who think they're entitled to walk through you and your family's personal space.
