The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. These are private sites on our property. You'll drive past our home, garage, and garden to get to each site and you'll be able to see our buildings from the sites. We have a very large English Mastiff and some hens. Both are contained in our fenced in yard. Eggs can be purchased upon request. We also have a some dirt jumps if you need to get warmed up before your ride, and a simple bike wash station ready to go when you get back.
Lots of wildlife inhabit our area of Vermont. During your stay you're likely to see whitetail deer, squirrels and chippies, rabbits, and hawks. There's a chance you may see a fox, black bear, moose or even a bobcat! We ask that food is secured in your vehicle and not brought into the bell tents, for your own safety. We do have a basket of safety equipment in each tent. The basket contains bug spray, bear horn, simple first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, and a flash light.

Wandering Pines is a little slice of magic in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire. Our sites range in size and privacy and offer field or wooded land. The sites are near our Small House on 5 acres but far enough away to feel private. We currently have 2 large campsites, 5 primitive walk in sites, 3 Pick your own sites, 3 park and sleep sites and 2 RV camper sites. Our hip camp sites are set up to be self sufficient. If you arrive after dark you may have a harder time finding a site. We are not always home or awake when you arrive. If our sites are booked, please message me. We have a ton of space and can accommodate you somewhere!
During the warmer months(April-Early December) all the sites have access to water and a primitive outhouse and handwashing/dishwashing station. Firewood can be purchased. Please check our extras for other items for purchase.
We have wetlands and overgrown fields so there may be bugs and other animals at any given time. Bug spray is recommended.
Although black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, they are opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available. Maintaining a sustainable bear population in New Hampshire depends on minimizing human-bear conflicts. It is illegal to intentionally feed bears in New Hampshire. Intentional feeding can create problems within residential areas and can result in fines. It also may threaten the life of the bear, if it becomes a nuisance animal as a result of this feeding. Please keep your food in your car when you are not at the site and when you are sleeping.
The property has views of Mount Martha and the Presidential Mountain Range. There are easy walking trails throughout the property. There is a field to play games; Soccer, wiffle ball, corn hole and yard croquet can be used. Just ask

Welcome to our peaceful field on a historic 7th-generation farm in Whitefield, NH—nestled in the heart of the White Mountains. Just minutes from downtown and surrounded by lakes, rivers, trails, breweries, and local eats, our location is perfect for outdoor explorers and weekend wanderers. We’re near the Heritage Trail and right on the Cross New Hampshire Adventure Trail route—great for bikers and hikers.
Our field offers star-filled skies, monarch butterflies, and frequent visits from deer and other wildlife. We intentionally keep the area wild and unmowed to support native species and maintain the natural beauty of the land.
This is a very rustic, off-grid campsite—best for those who appreciate nature and are prepared to rough it. There are no hookups, electricity, or potable water. An outhouse compost toilet is available (bring your own TP). No showers or dump stations. Please do not dump grey/black water anywhere on the property.
We allow small RVs, vans, and trailers under 24 ft. No 5th wheels. 4WD is recommended but not required. Garden carts are available, upon request, to haul gear if needed.
Important to Know:
No pets (we’re a working farm with chickens and farm dogs).
Fires allowed only in designated pit. Bring firewood (or purchase from us) and always follow fire bans.
Pack out your trash (small bin next to outhouse provided for cans/bottles).
No cutting trees or using the large bonfire pile in the center of the field.
Arrive before dark—there are no lights on site or along the field road.
If muddy, you may need to park at the bottom of the access road.
We rent to up to 3 groups per night, sites are first come, first serve.
Our family farmhouse dates back to the 1850s, with five remaining acres including the barn, fields, and woods. We offer farm-fresh eggs and seasonal produce when available.
Bears & Wildlife:
This is bear country. Store all food, coolers, and scented items in your vehicle. Never keep food in your tent, and keep your campsite clean at all times.

Centrally located between Interstates 91 and 93 in quaint Warren, NH, we are within walking distance of two restaurants, an ice cream stand, a well-stocked hardware store/convenience store, a local baseball field and playground, and the town common, where you can drop in on various community gatherings year-round.
A short drive will bring you to a plethora of rivers, lakes, ponds, and trailheads. If off-road motorsports are your thing, our back gate opens directly onto one of the largest ATV/snowmobile trail systems in the state.
Despite all of those nearby amenities, Scrump Acres has a bustling array of wildlife and a quiet, rural feel. With our many crabapple trees and winterberry bushes lining the meadow, Scrump Acres provides a robust winter food source for rare migratory birds.
On summer nights, the meadow is ablaze with thousands of fireflies set to a chorus of peepers. It's not uncommon to see a great blue heron or a bald eagle at the pond next door, which also serves as a pit stop for flocks of Canada geese during the spring and fall.

Hikers are welcome to wander along old logging roads through our sugarbush, and along trails throughout the remainder of the property (300+ ac. total) where there are numerous springs and creeks, mystical softwoods, expansive grassy fields, and a wild apple orchard. Moose, deer, and bear tracks are common, but animal encounters are not - still, please sequester your food accordingly and be mindful to carry out scraps or place them in lidded containers.

We have three 10x12 glamping tents tucked away in the forest on 6 acres, behind our home with glimpses of the surrounding mountains through the trees.
Private and tranquil- each tent has a queen sized bed with flannel sheets, a light comforter, and a lantern.

Organic Certified veggies, herbs, medicinal s, and edible flowers are available, throughout the season. I have approximately 70 varieties foraged and planted. I am developing a garden of dyeing flowers, as well.
Art classes and materials are available, for pottery [ beginner to advanced.] as well as sketching, fabric dyeing, plen air, or making mandalas. I do have leather tools, sewing machines, and stained glass. Bring your project or try a new one.
Lots of space in the common barn area for group lesson, or set up a spot and enjoy all by yourself!
Cabot has lots to offer for day trips, be it water sports, rail trail on bikes or walking, music, and cultural events, or purchasing fresh milk, beef, eggs, apples,
cheese, or homemade breads, all from Cabot. Contra Dance, music from Cabot Arts, or at the Den our local pub, are 2 miles away. The Bread and Puppet, Highland Center for the Arts, Barre Oprah house, art galleries, etc within an hour
drive in any direction.
A great place for children, I have swings and trees to climb, games, archaeological digs, scavenger hunts finding 10 different antique farm implements, and learning how they were used, to learning about mini microbe's and how to be friends with pollinators.
Massage including scar release, and MPS, Cranial Release, energy work with tuning forks and singing bowls are available. Singing bowl concert in the gardens can also happen! Expect the unexpected! See you soon!

2.) A Frame to Rest In - a newer addition which is a tiny A-Frame structure close to, but separate, from the Fireplace site and shares a driveway.
3.) Easy Come Easy Go - right off 302 and has a circular gravel driveway easy for RV pull-in with a picnic table and fire ring.

Located in Bethlehem at the top of the White Mountains close to endless hiking and biking. Both downtown Bethlehem and Littleton are within a 15 minute drive, supplying many choices for food and shopping.
Rainy and need more options? Take the beautiful 1 hour drive east on 302 to North Conway and visit the big outlet stores. If the weather is better, and you want a more scenic way there with hiking -- take the 25 minute drive down to Lincoln and travel the amazing Kancamangus Scenic Byway (Route 112). This is 35 miles through the White Mountains with no gas stations, so you might want to top off while in Lincoln.
Thirty minutes east is the Mount Washington Cog Railway, and you will pass the historic Mount Washington Hotel on the way. Fifteen minutes south and you can be at Franconia Notch State Park.

This property overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river (no access to) has two cabins to choose from, one sleeps two people (full size bed) and the other can accommodate three, 1 queen bed and a twin bed)
The property is such a peaceful spot!
We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available every weekday from 8am to 9am.
Night showers possible as well, just ask!
Both cabins have a fridge, and microwave and coffee maker to enjoy.
We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well!
Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible.
We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you.
We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time.
So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to
the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first!
Listen to the birds and relax!
And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle
Fresh eggs are available for sale and you can even say hi to the chickens on site! $5.00 a dozen!!
We are 30 minutes from Lake Morey concert venue!
Hiking trails are nearby including Groton State Forest, hiking near Willoughby Lake is only about 45 minutes away and is worth the trip! Come experience the green mountains and we are not far from the White mountains of NH.

My 8-acre property used to be a farm field. The farm is long gone and I've been reclaiming the open meadow for a few years now. I usually only mow once a year in order to leave flowers and grasses for the birds and insects, including the honey bees and monarch butterflies who love the milkweed, goldenrod, asters and other wild flowers that grow here. I keep just a few narrow paths and the campsite mowed, You will be sharing your site with the wildlife that lives here. Bears are not infrequent visitors and food should be carefully kept out of your tent and preferably locked in your vehicle with the windows up.
I have a small house on the property, not too far away, and keep to myself as a rule. I am available if you have a problem or need help with something, but you are on your own otherwise! Because my house is beyond your parking area, I do drive by going about my own business, but once the plants grow up, I can't see your campsite from my house, though I can see the parking area and if your vehicle is here or not.

Pitch a tent or two on the flat grassy edge of my meadow and enjoy the proximity to town and all the outdoor sports the White Mountains offer. There is afternoon shade over the site. This is a primitive site - no electricity, no running water, no security lights, and no covered pad. There is a picnic table, a fire pit suitable for cooking over, and a clean wooden outhouse. It's very private and although my house is nearby, I'm happy to just leave you alone.
I sell bundles of firewood, but you can bring your own, if you want. Please just don't bring any wood in from outside this immediate area - I don't want any new non-native insects being brought in.

Peaceful Pines is remote, beautiful and a wonderful place to camp. Maudie was very easy to communicate with and we had everything we needed to make fire and helpful information to access hiking trails. Our first night was super clear and we could view the stars and the milky way directly from our campfire spot. Highly recommend!

Quiet, peaceful, surrounded by horses! We came a little late in the season but stayed warm with our winter bedding (you bring your own). Everything you needed to start a cozy fire was provided and the stove and griddle were an added bonus in the covered pavilion.

Betsey is the best!!! This is our second year staying here and there is a reason we will always stay here when traveling to Burke. She is so thoughtful in everything she puts together. The tents have literally everything you can think of. They are cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. The sites are well maintained and quiet. We love it here!!

Had a wonderful time staying at Angela's property. She is a lovely and attentive hostess who provides everything you need for a comfortable and cozy stay.. lots of blankets for chilly nights, cooking supplies to make your campfire meals, and plenty of drinking water all surrounded by her beautiful gardens. The highlight of our visit was spending nights on her outdoor patio, stargazing and listening to owls converse with each other in the forest. Can't recommend Angela's place enough!

Cabin was cute and clean and nicely stocked with essentials and even some pleasant extras. The bathroom space was clean and well stocked with necessities, the firepit was lovely and well kept and the mountain view was absolutely extraordinary. It's close to the house and another small cabin but situated so it was still very private. Jess was accommodating and kind.

We tent camped with our own tent at the apple tree site and it was great. Appreciated the umbrella and flowers at the picnic table and a nice flat place to pitch the tent. The glamping sites looked lovey and well equipped but we had what we needed for the one night that we stayed. Very quiet place to stay.

Stayed at campsite #10, was very lovely along the river and well kept! I will say though—very far away from parking, would have been nice to have a wagon available for guests to lug their items to the sites? Also VERY close to site #11, luckily no one was there for our stay, but would have been pretty unfavorable to have random people so close to hear your every conversation.
