Minidoka County Fairgrounds: The fairgrounds are located East of Rupert encompassing an area of approximately sixty-five acres. The grounds includes a rodeo arena, display buildings (antique building, a commercial building, 4-H building), and open air pavilion for livestock shows, family reunions, and other community events. Hidden behind the main grounds is our small and quaint campground in a groomed grassy field. with a spectacular view of Mount Harrison. Our Amps are 30 amp. We suggest you have your own drinking water. There are signs saying nonpotable for your safety. There is not direct access to fairgrounds bathrooms. We are perfect for an RV set up or a tent camper that is a bit more experienced.
The Minidoka County Fair held the first week in August and includes a full week of events including entertainment, open class exhibits, food, rodeo, 4-H and FFA livestock shows. Numerous events are held at the fairgrounds throughout the year including Moto-X races, rodeos, auctions, 4-H events. weddings, horseshows, family reunions, and more. Note-Dates have been blocked for these events. We are fortunate to have this multi-purpose facility for use in our community.

We have about a mile of river running through our property—come float it! We also have a cute barn, farm animals, and a farm shop offering meat, milk, eggs, beeswax candles, soap, tea, coffee, honey, bread, and more—all sourced right here on our farm.
We have a couple of great places to stay and plenty to do. We are located just 5 minutes off I-15 and 18 minutes from Lava Hot Springs, and about 15 minutes from a Costco. Come camp here with the kids and enjoy the space to play and relax.
We offer a “bunkroom” trailer for rent. It is dry camping (no water or toilet), but there is a porta-potty nearby. It can be rented with or without power and stove capabilities. The trailer includes a couch and a full-size bed and is available for nightly rental.
Tent sites can be set up near our Kid Beach River area. It’s close to the farm and shop, yet still offers plenty of privacy. We can host large groups, multiple vehicles, and large RVs. We are also a host on Harvest Hosts—feel free to reach out for more information.
Please note that we do not allow any open flames of ANY kind, except those contained within RVs.
NO DOGS ALLOWED, even in vehicles. Our dog is not good with other dogs, and not all visiting dogs are trained around our free-roaming livestock and poultry. Even if you arrive with a dog in your car, we ask that you call ahead and park at the top so we can secure her and prevent any risk of damage to your vehicle. We protect her, and she protects us—our animals’ safety is extremely important to us.
Communication is key—tell us what you’d like to see and do in the area, and what kind of experience you’re hoping for while you’re here, and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
We also host family reunions and have a large indoor space available with seating and tables for up to 60 people.

Camping at Neil’s place was great! It was very peaceful, had lots of space and there was a river right next to our spot which was awesome! There’s a fire ring he personally made and brought to the site to use which was awesome. I would recommend coming to this spot anytime and will be back again.

Beautiful sunset and sunrise especially because we hiked to the top to enjoy. We enjoyed the short thunderstorm as well and the cool, fresh mountain air thereafter. We would love to return here. Great spot. Adam was super helpful. He was responsive to needs and site was pretty easy to navigate. He’s got some exciting construction going on right now and site should be even better in the future. He’s adding bathrooms and easier water access. Also there a cool dome going in at the top spot (there are 6 spots).
We stayed at one of the lower RV spots. Site has full hookups but is definitely bare ground. No patio or anything but there is a fire ring and picnic table. The lower sites have power, water available from a hose, and dump site for black and gray on the way out. Higher up spots don’t have any amenities.
Overall would recommend for sure.

Weekend Trip to Lava Camp 1
We absolutely LOVED this spot! 10/10 recommend and we will definitely be back. The site has a large canvas tent set up on the property with 3 cots inside, and the tent can definitely fit a few more in sleeping bags. They also have a table, a propane grill, and propane fire pit at the site - was SO nice not to have to pack a stove or pans and to not have a wood fire during peak fire season. The porta potty was genuinely the cleanest one I’ve ever been in. A few things to note for getting there: When you put the coordinates into Google Maps, you’ll enter onto a private gravel road and it will tell you to turn left when it turns to pavement - instead, turn right onto the pavement and the site is a few miles up the road! You’ll arrive to a little entrance where the porta potty is, park there and the tent is tucked away a super short walk down the path to the left of the porta potty. The site is secluded and we loved the quiet privacy! It felt super remote while being only a 20 minute drive (mostly down the mountain) to town. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

You could be the only one there for the night. It was quiet. Note the instructions…this is a fair ground and you do drive thru to the back side. Site is clearly marked. A side note for the general area(community), Google Maps is not caught up on food locations. For food, google said 9 miles (next town over)for a DQ. As we headed that way, we came upon one only 2-ish miles from camp site.

2 nights at Mountain View Glamping Yurt
We absolutely loved this yurt and cannot wait to go back! It was very clean and super cozy. Very private as well. Jennifer was very kind and great to communicate with. We explored Lava Hot Springs and Chesterfield, got to enjoy an intense lightening storm and just overall got to relax and escape reality for a bit. The amenities were endless, and the board games provided were a highlight to our trip! We hope to make this a regular spot for our get-away needs!
