The home was built by my parents in ‘82. My Mom was an avid hiker and outdoors person. She collected and planted agave pups in the yard and tended to them over the years. Because they’re watered and the pups are removed each spring they continue to grow to mammoth size.

Park your RV at our place on your travels, we are 5 min off the interstate! Dirt road is great for walking, some parts of the year people pass through for birding. Some people come to check out the area to potentially move to the area and some only come for the winters. We also have a short little nature trail that we made ourselves. We are 30 minutes south of Tucson, 25 minute drive away from Madera Canyon/Coronado National Forest for some great hiking and bird watching! No light pollution so you can see the stars good at night. Remember the term sky island. Here in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico, mountains seemingly come out of nowhere to dominate an otherwise flat landscape. Discover the five distinct areas of this national forest, all of which have their own sky islands.
Start your wanderings at Sabino Canyon. Steep rock cliffs and unique desert vegetation follow Sabino Creek, which maintains water year-round. Keep a sharp eye out for desert wildlife adapted for high heat and low humidity. Gila monsters may sun themselves on rocks, while bobcats sip from the creek's water.
Discover Miller Peak, the highest peak in the Huachuca Mountains. Wilderness surrounding the area comprises vertical cliffs and deep canyons. Follow an 11.5-mile, moderately hard trail to the top of the mountain. The mountain rises 3,500 feet above the countrysidePets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space.
I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites.
I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you.
This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff.
I have WiFi and great cell service here. Please arrive by 8pm unless arrangements are made in advance. I meet with you and show you around.

I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10.

This property is at the base of the Mule Mountains with views looking over the San Pedro River to the Huachuca Mountains, the lights of Sierra Vista and San Pedro Mexico.
It's two miles away from the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, a popular trailhead for birdwatchers, hikers, and mountain bikers. It's just a 30 minute drive to Old Bisbee, a historic mining town with a vibrant music and art scene.
Also within a half hour drive, you can reach the Coronado National Monument, or Miller Canyon.

And... if you happen to fly a paramotor, you hit the jackpot. Just next to the camping spot, there is a landing zone. If you want to fly here, please get familiar with the local airspace. The riparian area has a 2000' requested minimum altitude. West of the river is restricted airspace and the boarder defense zone starts just six miles to the South. Heading to the North, then East, you are all clear. It's best to fly when the wind is coming from the West or South.

We (Tim and Victoria) moved out to our place in the desert in February 2008 along with our many plants. We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station.
All of our sites are fenced in, and have many, many cool amenities such as fire pits, sinks with fresh, pure water, table with 4 chairs, gas grills and lounge chairs/porch swing.

We had a really nice 5 night stay at Claudia and Brian's Exception Ranch. This was our first Hipcamp experience. Couldn't have asked for a better location, and amminities. The pull through site is roomy and is graveled. The Ramada and bathroom are very nice. We enjoyed our daily soak in the cowboy pool. If you like nature, stars, and peace and quiet, this place has it all. Looking forward to returning for another stay.

A standout RV Park and Motel with all the charm of the midcentury-modern American West with a tiki-bar twist. Toni is lovely and welcoming – as were all the staff I met – and she personally came out to greet us in the morning after we arrived very late. There is plenty to do but not the usual things to see...that's what makes it so special.
El Pais is truly a delight to behold and a place you'll want to revisit. TIP: If you try to book online and find there is nothing available, message Toni and Karl because that might be an error on HipCamp. You don't want to miss out on any days! ✌️

This quick overnight stay in Tucson was exactly what I was looking for. Karl was extremely helpful and kind, and even helped me park my trailer after a grueling 14 hr drive with bad weather. Plus, he recommended a great burger spot close by. The place had a cozy atomic sheek vibe with retro art cars and vintage trailers. There was a communal kitchen, two showers and bathrooms, a nice clean pool, and an assortment of movies and board games for your choosing. Highly recommend.

I loved the vibe here! Everyone was very chill and the decoration is incredible. Shower and bathroom were super clean. Would recommend to others!

Johnny has a nice property for camping! We stayed in the trailer site and were walking distance to town. The Paton hummingbird center was fantastic and is a 5 minute walk from the camp site.

Lake front camping was great! But beware you will be camping very close to other people. We camped at site 104 and had a lot of RV's to our left but on our right we had 4 adults, 6 kids and 2 dogs. We rented a canoe from the marina for $35 for 2 hours. It was nice to paddle around the lake and see everything. Afterwords we "hit the beach" as my kids say. The next day was the annual Mariachi band festival with food trucks and wine tasting. Every campsite was booked and we had a good time on this busy weekend at the park. We will be back to try the boat-in only campsites so we won't be as close to other people.

Didn’t spend the night here. Pretty crowded campgrounds. As a vanlifer, I visit state parks to shower and refill water as a way to support the park systems. So my review is limited to day use. The lake was pretty! Enjoyed some time on the water kayaking with my dog. Facilities were nice as were all the people working there. We went during February, and all the snowbirds seemed to make up the majority of campers as we chatted with people around the park.

When you reserve the island (highly recommend) check in at the dock and use the shuttle service to get your gear out there. $100 for shuttle but totally worth it.

For beginner campers, this is great place to start. Campsites are pretty close together and there are restrooms nearby. BBQ grills surround each campsite and if you're lucky, so are friendly, fellow campers. If you're not so lucky, annoying, loud ones, haha. Finding sites with appropriate shading can be tricky so get out early to snag one if you plan on staying for more than a night. I'd suggest bringing a tarp for shade just in case you don't. The water is nice and refreshing and if you know someone with a boat, water skiing is always a blast! I've gone fishing and have never had bad luck catching at least a little, ol' blue gill.

Patagonia is only "isolated" in it's Location. The campground itself is quite compacted with sites, some too close to the septic field! But the Big Draw here is the lake which is the biggest around & has boat rentals & dockage. Fishing is good here so the park is very popular. Best bets are the primitive boat-in only sites dotted along the lake.
