Glamm Camping

We have always enjoyed camping, scuba diving and travel... anything outdoors. We made a promise that If ever given the chance to share that joy with others we would and make it a great experience. We searched and searched  looked at a lot of properties North of the Woodlands,  to build our home. On a Saturday morning, my husband told me about a dream of 3 very tall and Magnificent Trees, soaring way up in the sky.  A few days later we were walking through the forest looking at a 20 acre tract of land for sale with our realtor, I'm thinking, "oh how would we ever get this cleared, this is a lot of work"  Then, up ahead was a clearing and right in the middle were 3 of the tallest, most magnificent Cedar trees. They were perfectly planted standing side by side. We both looked at each other and said," Oh this must be it". The rest is history. We purchased the land in 2015 and sold our home in The Woodlands in 2016... and began to build our dream.Learn more about this land:Perfect for outdoor weddings or reunions. There are rural campsites , Firepits allowed, lots of cedar & oak trees abundant wildlife. creek and walking/biking trails. electric and bathhouse avail.

Coyote Creek Farm

8 sites · RVs, Tents30 acres · Waco, TX
Established 1996, The farm is situated just minutes from Magnolia-Silos, the Dr. Pepper museum, Baylor University,  the Texas Ranger museum, BSR Waterpark, the Waco Mammoth National Monument (US National Park Service),  and plenty of magnificent restaurants.  There are no power lines over the property so I invite you to bring a kite to fly! You may even see one or two of mine in the sky. The theme of Coyote Creek Farm is tranquility. It is camping without someone crowding into your space. It is freedom from the hectic pace of the city. There is a well maintained Compost Toilet on the property as well! Each individual campsite has a portable potty bucket provided.  Nearly any spot you are on has an amazingly delightful view. You can see the sun rise over the trees or the sun set behind a gently sloping hill. You will have access to all of the 30 acres. There are paths to walk, a stocked tank to fish in, (bass, catfish and blue gill),  and oak and pecan trees to sit under and view the clouds as they drift overhead. The noises you hear will be cattle calling to their little ones, birds singing, and in the evenings, coyotes howling.

The best camping near Fort Parker State Park guide

Overview

About

This Texas state park has all your favorite outdoor activities from swimming, fishing, hiking, and biking. The park includes its own cemetery — Old Springfield Cemetery! Fort Parker State Park was once home to Springfield a pioneer town but all that remains is the cemetery.

During the peak season, the park rents canoes and kayaks, so you can explore the shoreline. If you want to fish but forget your pole, the ranger station offers rentals.

Bring your tent or RV to take advantage of the 35 campsites. The park offers varying amenities at the campgrounds. There's a group primitive campsite, but it's reserved for youth groups.

Feel like your inside with one of the eight screened shelters with lights, electrical plugs, and a picnic table. If you're traveling with a large group, opt for the Group Barracks Complex. It has four bunkhouses and a dining hall with all the comforts of home.

Notable campgrounds

  • Lakeside Campsites: Sleep under the stars at a campsite with stunning views and easy access to the water.
  • Screened Shelters: Enjoy a comfortable retreat from the elements while staying close to nature's chorus.
  • Cabins: Opt for a rustic cabin stay, offering the charm of camping with the comfort of air-conditioning.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Book early, especially if planning to visit during the busy weekends in spring, early summer, and fall.
  • Reserve passes online or by phone to guarantee entry, as the park can reach capacity.
  • Consider weekday camping for more availability and a quieter experience.
  • Explore nearby camping options if the park is fully booked or for a different scenery.

When to go

The ideal times to visit Fort Parker State Park are during the milder seasons of spring and fall. Summer offers warm days perfect for water activities, while winter provides a peaceful, less crowded experience. Avoid weekends during peak seasons to escape the crowds.

Know before you go
