Please read the site descriptions carefully to match your style of camping with the appropriate campsite. BBA guests frequently camp with a tent, vehicle, smaller camper, hammock tent, roof top tent, pop-up camper and similar styles. Most photos in this listing are taken onsite. Please keep in mind this is primitive and wild Tennessee landscape that may also contain poisonous plants and wildlife in or around camp.
Access to fresh water fun is a short down-hill hike for all guests, with the exception of our hike-in campsites which are positioned alongside the river. Each spot has been strategically selected to provide as much privacy as possible, and comfortably accommodates groups with two vehicles. We provide a rock fire pit and heavy-duty, cast-iron grill grate. You provide everything else, including drinking water and personal toilet waste bags if you plan to use our system. The hike-in sites come with extra seating. Every guest must be included on your reservation, and adult guests may be required to provide identification. Thank you!
COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires.
OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS: Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. We ask all guests to help us minimize impacts by driving with care. Vehicles with low ground clearance or low-profile tires are no longer permitted to use the off-road drive and must park at the entrance. If you want a campsite with the shortest walk from the entrance parking area, you will want to select campsite 5, 9 or 6. When the road is open during unusually wet periods, we recommend AWD or 4WD as a precaution. We are continuously working on improvements for our off-road drive.
Belle and Beau Acres is a farm homestead with a personal campground, conveniently located less than five minutes from I40. Expect nothing short of 360 degree views of relaxing nature, privacy, and spontaneous adventure when recreating at this agritourism location. Central to the most beautiful middle Tennessee destinations, BBA is the perfect home base for hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing excursions to at least 10 nearby state parks and lakes. Conveniently located on the Eastern Highland Rim between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga in the lower Appalachian mountains, this area sits at the Upper Cumberland Plateau and is part of Tennessee's largest micropolitan area of Cookeville. The family we bought the farm from owned and farmed it since 1900. They built a cabin then and built a house around the cabin in 1920. We bought it in 2018 and have been renovating it to build a retreat center for first responders and others who serve unselfishly. Campsite on the Caney is a full hook up RV campsite located right on the Caney Fork River. Our campsite only accommodates one guest at a time. When you book your dates, you will be the only guest on site and get the whole property to yourself. Our campsite offers privacy that you cannot get at a traditional campground.
We provide full electricity, septic, and water hookups for campers. We now offer free fiber internet with your stay.
The property has a private boat ramp/ driveway that leads to the water for launching boats, kayaks, swimming and easier fishing access. Our riverbank is a gradual, sandy slope that is perfect for swimming and kayaking in the summer months. The campsite offers a swing set, charcoal grill, picnic table, saucer swing, 2 kayaks with lifejackets, and firewood so campers can relax by the fire and enjoy watching the wildlife.
INCLUDED WITH YOUR STAY: 2 kayaks and 2 paddles will be included during your entire stay. Please only use them at our campsite. Please wear your lifejacket while swimming and kayaking.
NOTE: The river levels are controlled by the Great Falls Dam in Rock Island. During the months of October- early May, the water levels drop 20ft to prevent flooding.
Note: Cell service is spotty for Verizon and very scarce for AT&T.

Patti was an amazing host! We showed up at night and she still showed us to our spot and gave us the best spot she had for rainy weather. The dogs were also so sweet and guarded us all night and gave us company. She also offered us eggs which is so sweet! We had a great time here :)

My partner and I made a last minute decision to go camping when our schedules changed. Patti was extremely friendly and communicative immediately when we made our reservation. I really enjoyed hearing from her. The campsite is not very far from Nashville and was a perfect getaway. The campsite has three guard dogs that are SUPER sweet. They were very playful with our 1 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd (who still thinks he’s, like, a 6 month old). We also felt very happy that these dogs were guarding us during the night. The road is somewhat close to the campsite but it didn’t have heavy traffic. This site was perfect for the three of us looking at a short, impromptu night away from home! The creek and birds were lovely to wake up to and we came home the next day cheerful and relaxed. We were at Site 2, but Site 3 also seemed great for a larger group.

Our 3 crazy kids had a blast exploring the creek & running around the large field, while our dog enjoyed making friends with several of the sweet farm dogs. We loved our time at Campsite on the Caney. It is very centrally located -- 15 minutes from town, 30 minutes to an hour to over a dozen state parks & waterfalls to the West, North, & South. Smokey Mountains 2.5-3 hours to the east. Chattanooga 1.5 hours south. We were out from sunrise to sunset for 6 days straight and barely scratched the surface. We had some cold fall days and weren't able to take advantage of the kayaks but the site was gorgeous and wish we had a couple more days just to hang out at the site. Other than a couple cars a day passing by, we never saw anyone the entire 6 days. Our dogs loved it. The host was very hospitable and responsive. I would recommend this site to anyone especially if you have pets and enjoy privacy.

Stayed one night in the dry camping area. Easy place to get to. Wonderful sounds of owls hooting and coyotes howling through the night. Bring about 3-4 inch of leveling blocks since the ground is has a slope to it. Ground is more level towards the street but gets steeper as you get closer to the trees.

Our stay was awesome! The owner had free firewood to use for the firepits and every question we had was answered promptly. I will say there are no showers yet, so there’s a pilot about an hour away or a planet fitness in Columbia if you have the black card. Other than that it was great, super quiet. Lots of long term stayers. Very chill, would recommend!!

Loved staying here with my kids. Location was super easy to get to. The layout was great, you feel mostly secluded even though there are other sites in the area. The site itself was nicely shaded so it didn’t get too hot. They have a super cute farm-stand with perfectly precut wood. The hike down to the creek was kinda slippery with fallen leaves but it was still nice and the kids loved checking it out. Christine was a super hero host when someone decided to leave a light on in our car and drained our battery. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Misty Bottoms is hands down one of the best campsites where we’ve ever stayed The site is incredibly well-maintained and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable, relaxing stay.
The grassy area was perfect for our tent (and great for RVs too), and we really appreciated the electric hookup and potable water access. The bathroom was impressively clean, with a hot shower and even toiletries provided — a rare find at most campsites!
We loved gathering around the fire pit in the evenings (firewood included!) and spending time in the shelter, which had everything from hammocks, tables, and even a refrigerator. It was a great spot to hang out, rain or shine.
The views of the sky were stunning — clear and wide open, perfect for stargazing, and the sunrise and sunset over the Green River were absolutely magical. The whole environment was peaceful and quiet — ideal for a relaxing getaway.
Hosts Travis and Tena were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. They clearly care about making this a special place for visitors, and it shows.
We will definitely be returning. We highly recommend Misty Bottoms to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-equipped nature retreat!
