Overview

About

East central Illinois is blessed with a perfect setting for all-season activities. It offers large tracts of indigenous woodlands ideal for camping, horseback riding, and snowmobiling.

Wolf Creek and the adjoining Eagle Creek SRA boast 250 miles of shoreline on Lake Shelbyville. The four-lane launching ramp gives boaters, skiers and anglers quick access to the well-stocked lake's 11,100 acres of water. Swimmers flock to the public beach equipped with changing rooms, a playground, a picnic area, and restrooms.

Seven hiking trails wind through the lush forests, while equestrians claim a 15-mile horse trail. A 16.5-mile snowmobile trail puts the high-intensity action into the winter months. With the largest camping area on Lake Shelbyville, options abound at Wolf Creek. Check out the 20-site primitive campground.
