Peaceful rest on a beautiful farm
I felt lucky to be able to share time on this beautiful working farm. It was peaceful and calm with outstanding sleep. I enjoyed all of the farm noises and all of the perfume. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to get away from city life.
Kind people & peaceful vibes! It's a great spot to camp "old school" with kiddos. Lots of room to run around. Dolly showed us the creek on their property and said we were welcome to splash around, and we did! We saw deer crossing the creek and watched bats swoop overhead in the evening, played hide and seek, watched Dolly's horses and listened for Bigfoot. We were looking for a simple spot to get away for the night (there was a big, loud event happening near our home) with three kids and two dogs, and Dolly's was perfect.
Peaceful, relaxing, rustic, serene.
Dolly was a delight and very helpful. We didn't bring any firewood but she had tons of cut and dried wood for the taking and even gave me matches and paper. The place is very rustic but for $10/night midweek discount it was great.
Dry even land for the tent, water from a pump and a clean outhouse. What else ya need? Oh, and the setting with the horses in the lot next to us was really serene. The horses were very gentle and we fed them apples from a tree. Careful of that electric fence though... it's active. The Gmap will point to a neighbor's farm, and even the directions are confusing as the Crosspatch sign is across the road from where the camping area is. When you come down Baker and see the Crosspatch sign look across the street to the road that leads back behind a horse lot and that is where you camp.
Peaceful, sweet stay
Wonderful peaceful stay! Dolly was welcoming and thoughtful. We loved exploring the property and watching the horses from our campsite. The farm kitty was friendly. Easy access but private site. Highly recommend!
Full of smiles
We had a nice stay at the ranch and took to the trails close by at the Allegheny state forest and also rock city state forest. Natural beauty all around you. Dolly had every horse drawn piece of anything you could imagine including an old chuck wagon. Like the settlers took out west. A gracious host with an awesomely interesting place to set up camp!
