I remember horseback riding and building a shed for my grandfathers combine. I recently purchased this property from my grandparents and got to work building my tiny home that my new family lives in. National forest is only a few minute drive away along with a handful of reservoirs and river access. Come enjoy the views. These are primitive campsites with no potable water. This property was used by the Shoshone Indian tribe as a summer camp area. Later after the pioneers came they set up a dance floor and had parties here. The dance floor has since overgrown. This property has also been the host to never dams. It has been in our family for many years and we have enjoyed it.Learn more about this land:The campsites are located in a wooded area so lots of shade. 2 sites are creek side along maple creek and the other has a small stream and a pond. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. You will need to cross maple creek to reach site 1. The road down to the river bottoms is a bit steep so 4 wheel drive is recommended. This area is ideal for tent camping.

The Retreat Juniper Tent/Van sites sit at the base of Green's Mountain nestled among the Junipers and Pinion pines. You will stay just outside the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve off the road that connects it to Castle Rocks State Park. Enjoy all the fun of camping under the stars with an amazing secluded location at the entrance to the City of Rocks. Enjoy Rock Climbing, Bouldering, Hiking, Biking, Fishing, and Hot Springs, all within a 5 minute drive! The Park is full all summer but you will have your own quiet base camp 2 minutes away.  Sit around the fire pit at night and gaze at the amazing star filled sky. Sites 8, 9, and 10 are all in the same private forested area and great for groups but still separated for plenty of privacy. Each site has a level tent pad, parking area for a car or van (car/van camping ok), and access to potable water, bathrooms, and garbage. We have now added a 15amp plug to each site to provide power for things like phone and laptop charging, air pump, medical devices, or other basics at no charge. Camper vans, or other vehicles that want to plug in to the power will need to pay an additional $10/day electric fee. No EV charging. Only 1 Camper Van per site. Parking is allowed right at camp but no vehicles bigger than a van (20ft), and no trailers. No mosquitos here! PET FRIENDLY! This land has been in our family over 100 years. The Retreat has the closest campsites to the City of Rocks.

We have about a mile of river running through our property—come float it! We also have a cute barn, farm animals, and a farm shop offering meat, milk, eggs, beeswax candles, soap, tea, coffee, honey, bread, and more—all sourced right here on our farm. We have a couple of great places to stay and plenty to do. We are located just 5 minutes off I-15 and 18 minutes from Lava Hot Springs, and about 15 minutes from a Costco. Come camp here with the kids and enjoy the space to play and relax. We offer a “bunkroom” trailer for rent. It is dry camping (no water or toilet), but there is a porta-potty nearby. It can be rented with or without power and stove capabilities. The trailer includes a couch and a full-size bed and is available for nightly rental. Tent sites can be set up near our Kid Beach River area. It’s close to the farm and shop, yet still offers plenty of privacy. We can host large groups, multiple vehicles, and large RVs. We are also a host on Harvest Hosts—feel free to reach out for more information. Please note that we do not allow any open flames of ANY kind, except those contained within RVs. NO DOGS ALLOWED, even in vehicles. Our dog is not good with other dogs, and not all visiting dogs are trained around our free-roaming livestock and poultry. Even if you arrive with a dog in your car, we ask that you call ahead and park at the top so we can secure her and prevent any risk of damage to your vehicle. We protect her, and she protects us—our animals’ safety is extremely important to us. Communication is key—tell us what you’d like to see and do in the area, and what kind of experience you’re hoping for while you’re here, and we’ll do our best to make it happen. Fishing in the river is great, boasting rainbow, cut throat, brook and brown trout. There's also a few great swimming holes right below the property, including a 15 ft. waterfall. Guests may hike trails to the old mines, or be directed to a plethora of trails for biking nearby. The setting at Bristol is uniquely peaceful for the busy tourist town of Lava Hot Springs. Although still technically within city limits, the place offers an atmosphere of it's own, seemingly outside of time. Once a miners camp and stage coach stop along the Oregon Trail, we have worked hard to maintain the buildings and grounds. With an abundance of trees, (bonus if you can name all varieties) the main compound is well shaded through the hot summer months. Our single room, quaint cabins have a shared bathroom with showers and towels available. We are a minutes walk from the hot springs and downtown, so no need to fight for a parking spot!

Crazy Cow Adventures is Great! Bathroom and showers clean and private. A wonderful museum of farming equipment and artifacts on a big fun working farm. Fun to wander and check it all out. Set up on grass next to covered picnic table with a s'mores gift packet waiting. A few friends to meet are a pig, a horse, cows, sheep, goats, chickens and an early riser rooster :) Welcoming and attentive hosts. I will definitely be back!

It looked like they were working on improvements for next season - building nice little shade/ wind breaks in the tent sites. Cell coverage was weak in spots between I-84 and Almo when coming from the south so make sure you download directions.

The location was really close to the park entrance. Owner was super friendly and I was able to plug my motorcycle trickle charge in at the tent site since they provide 15amp plugs. I'd totally stay again when I come back to the area.

One of our favorite seasons to yurt is winter. It provides the best gathering spot to stay cozy and warm and adventure out from on skis, snowshoes, sleds, or any other snow gliding/stomping/enjoying equipment. In winter, the yurt can only be accessed by hiking/skiing up to it, or a ride in the snow cat.

1 night at Secret Canyon Ranch

The property is absolutely beautiful. We rolled up just in time for an epic sunset. The yurt is cozy and warm, thanks to the propane fireplace and charming decor. Even the kitchen sink and outhouse are ingenious and adorable. The guidebook to the yurt was so cute and informative--our daughter enjoyed flipping through the handwritten and drawn pages. It's clear that a lot of love went into this space. We'd definitely stay here again!

This was the perfect place for us on this trip. Simple and well maintained tent site with a brand new and clean outhouse. We didn't use it a lot made a great base camp. Will stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Rock Wren Hideway

Rock Wren is absolutely beautiful! The tent feels luxurious with lots of personal touches to help guests feel comfortable. The night we spent was really cold, and the hosts provided extra blankets. We were super cozy. Would love to come back!

As if you needed more inspiration to get out and enjoy the unexpected beauty of Idaho, the Curlew National Grassland resides in Power County—ya gotta come see what’s so powerful about this place! You won’t be let down by the fortitude of history and scenery at this former home to Shoshone and Bannock Indian tribes. Formerly a ranching town laid to waste by the Dust Bowl, this space was created to sustain wildlife and fish, as well as water and recreation resources in the county.

Even if you can’t stay the night, there are plenty of scenic drives to take through the park, and panoramic views to capture on your camera. Sagebrush open desert provides little shade, but the Stone Reservoir has some cool-off opportunities in the form of boating, swimming, and fishing. You can also catch a chill in the year-round 40 degree Minnetonka Caves nearby, or warm up during a winter visit at the Downata Hot Springs in Malad.
