This property was used by the Shoshone Indian tribe as a summer camp area. Later after the pioneers came they set up a dance floor and had parties here. The dance floor has since overgrown. This property has also been the host to beaver dams. It has been in our family for many years and we have enjoyed it. Porta potty is available seasonally Memorial Day to labor day Learn more about this land: The campsites are located in a wooded area so lots of shade. 2 sites are creek side along maple creek and the other has a small stream and a pond. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. You will need to cross maple creek to reach site 1. The road down to the river bottoms is a bit steep so 4 wheel drive is recommended. This area is ideal for tent camping.

This campsites is located in a wooded area so lots of shade. This site is creek side along maple creek. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. You will need to cross maple creek to reach this site. Depending on the creek volume it is not always passable in the spring. In this case you will be sent to an alternate site. This Site also has outdoor carpet and patio furniture at the site. The road down to the river bottoms is a bit steep so 4 wheel drive is recommended. This area is ideal for tent camping or small teardrop trailers. This site has a picnic table. There is one portable toilet for the 4 campsites it sits between site 2-3 Porta potty is provided mid May - mid September. Come enjoy the wilderness and watch the stars. This area was used by the local Indian tribes during the summer. We have found many flint arrowheads and a bread stone on the property. Nearby: There is a cave on little mountain to the west that they wintered in and it is a short hike to go see it. There is a 6 mile round trip hike to the head of maple creek. Trail head at the top of maple creek road. If you have atv’s there are trails for that also.

This campsite is right beside the creek. This site has less trees than the other sites. Site 2 also has outdoor carpet and a picnic table. The toilet is between site 2-3. Porta potty is provided mid May - mid September. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. Very cool site, loved being able to drive up and park right in the site. The set of furniture with the turf style carpet is a very nice touch. We were nervous but we found the entrance and the site immediately with no issues. Good chance we come back at some point if it's still available. We stayed at site 1. One of the cars in our group did have some trouble getting out of the site but it's a Honda Fit FWD and it still got over the creek and up the muddy hill without much difficulty really. The tree cover was super nice and we were able to rest in the water and enjoy nature. 100% value if you want a good secluded site, didn't see another person. The porta-john was extremely well maintained as well. Owner communicated easily and answered all my questions. There is a maverick like 5 min away if needed.

Ken’s land is gorgeous! Site 1 is absolutely beautiful. It was clean, well maintained and very private. It’s different than standard campgrounds where the host drives and drops by, we appreciated the seclusion. Because Ken responds immediately, we knew if we needed anything, we’d be able to get ahold of him fast. I would recommend 4 wheel drive once you leave the roadway, there is kind of a steep hill going down, but it’s not bad, and you’ll have to drive across the creek to get to the site. The porta potty is close, but you’ll have to walk across the creek to get to it. If you appreciate the beauty of trees, you will love the ones here, they’re majestic. Between the trees, the creek next to the site, and the birds singing it was so peaceful and relaxing. It is truly stunning and has been added to our favorites. We can’t wait to go back.

Make sure you have a vehicle capable of driving back up the steep hill! I loved being at this spot esp for my dog, she was able to roam since there were no other campers-and the road was for enough away.

Very quiet and cute camp site that is very close to town. It was a nice quick getaway. There was plenty of room and the sounds of the creek were relaxing. Our only caveat was that we wish we had known the porta potty was only there until mid September.

Site 4 - Hidden Valley
We loved our one night stay on Ken’s land. It was peaceful and private and we loved the site. The hill to get over to campsite 4 was steep, but doable in an SUV. The porta potty is about a 5-minute walk up and over the small hill, but it was never crowded and was clean. On Sunday morning around 10am we witnessed the bizarre landslide of rocks from whatever they were dumping down the mountain. As other reviewers have said it is pretty strange and happens in decently close proximity to site 4. We just made sure to keep our dog away from that side of the site. We would definitely come back here! We loved it.

We were on site 2 for a night and it was nice! Right next to the creek, it was great to hear it at night. I’ll add to some other reviews about the hill going in and out- we had a Mazda 6 with fairly new tires and were able to get back up the hill alright, but it was still a little scary 😬 so just know that if you don’t have 4 wheel drive and it happens to rain or your tires are bad, it may not be worth the risk!

Site 3 - Indian Springs
Beautiful piece of land. This is my families second time here and we love it. We were there on Labor Day weekend and even with all four sites being booked we barely heard or saw any of the others. If you are looking for a place to just disconnect you can’t go wrong picking this place. Ken is a great host and very responsive.

This was a really great private site. The owners wetr lind enough to lead me down to the area. The access road is steep and rocky but fun to drive on. It would be best to have 4wd and this site you cross a creek. The entry is across from the green house at 4514 where the big rock mound is. The toilet was clean too just down a bit next to sites 2 and 3. I enjoyed my stay and had a nice fire. My lab enjoyed being off leash a bit while we were in the site area.

A great place to camp with children

Great location, mostly secluded. We love how safe and blocked off this area is because we don't worry about our kids playing out of arms reach. Of course we watched them by the creek but the large camp area has plenty of space for them to explore within eyesight. There were other campers there this time (we camped here last year in the fall and it was completely empty) and they didn't obey the quiet hours rule (10 pm) which made it kind of hard getting our kiddos to sleep until almost midnight every night once the music stopped but that wasn't a trip ruin-er for us. We still enjoy our time playing in the creek, hanging out by the fire, and listening to the crickets and awesome nature sounds that we could hear all day and most of the night. We appreciated the porta-potty as well. Will definitely return!

Secluded Idaho Camping (Site #4)

Site 4 - Hidden Valley
We had a great time camping here! Just a quick overnighter on our way to Blackfoot. We definitely missed the sign to campsite #4 so we ended up driving to the wrong spot at first. Campsite #4 is your first right once you go down the hill off the main road. I’ll echo what’s been said by others that the dirt roads are steep but manageable in an AWD crossover/SUV. Our campsite and bathroom (chemical toilet) were both clean. Be prepared for bugs but they weren’t as bad once we started the fire.

Ken was very responsive and answered questions quickly. He allowed us to fill our water jugs on his property. The port a potty was very clean. The site wasn’t marked out very well but he came out and showed us where it was. Our cars got pretty scratched up driving in and out but it’s camping, so… We had a good time and felt very safe and tucked away.

We loved tent camping on Ken’s land. He was a friendly host who suggestions for us before our arrive of things to do in the area. He also stopped to check in with us to make sure we didn’t have any issues when we arrived. Great place.

We camped on spot #2. The approach was a little steep. Definitely recommend 4WD. The spot was spectacular with beautiful vegetation and bird song. The rushing creek was our neighbor. Ken enhanced the spot with a fire ring and picnic table with a ground cover. Perfect balance of sun and shade over the day. No one stayed at #1, so we never saw anyone else and skinny dipped in the creek!! Surrounding roads were quiet and made for a lovely ride. Hiking was easy to find nearby. We discovered a great local diner called LD's. We can't wait to go back and explore the area more. Our puppy was enchanted too.

Site 4 - Hidden Valley
Tent camping at Site 4 was wonderful. The site is separated from the others by a fairly steep hill that goes up and then back down the other side. We were able to make it multiple times in our AWD Subaru Legacy, but if it had been muddy I’m not sure we could have made it. The outhouse is closer to the other sites, but it’s not a bad walk to get back to it. The site itself was large and had a variety of different birds that we enjoyed watching and listening to. We saw a couple of deer in the site as well. There is access to the creek from the site, but it took us a while to find as the path down is covered with trees and foliage. We were able to harvest fire wood from fallen trees around the site, but Ken also had bundles of wood available to purchase if needed. One thing to note - Site 4 is located behind a property (the same one you turn into from the main road), and it seems that they use site 4 to empty their trucks into. We watched them dump large rocks down the hill and into the site for about an hour. Not sure if this is part of a deal they have with Ken, but they started without any warning and it could have been dangerous if anyone had been standing where the rocks were falling. We had the opportunity to explore the other sites as well, and I would recommend all except maybe site 2 as it had no shade. Site 1 is across the river. Overall it was a very enjoyable and relaxing week at this site, and we are already thinking about when we will be coming back!

Great communication from host & had his older son help me & my daughter since the host was out of town. I do wish there were photos posted of each site with a description of those sites. We originally wanted site 1 but it’s not accessible during this time of year due to river being too high to drive over. The mosquitoes were horrid due to a small pond at another site. The directions could use a little work due to there being no sign (as stated in the directions and multiple same colored houses in that area). I’m sure the people in the small community got a kick out of us driving back & forth trying to find the “road” that lead down to the sites. Do not recommend in a small car because the beginning of the road is very steep, has a drop off one side and mainly rocks. Was nice having the river right at our campsite but don’t recommend in Spring due to mosquitoes haha and everything being damp/muddy. With all the trees, this is probably a great place once it’s warmer.

We recently stayed at this campsite and had an amazing time! The site was very spacious and beautifully maintained, making it perfect for our family. The little stream was a hidden gem that our kids absolutely loved playing in. The surroundings were stunning, and we even spotted a deer, which was a highlight for our son. Despite not having a 4-wheeler, we brought our e-bike and had so much fun exploring the area. The campsite felt very private, and we were pleasantly surprised by how clean the toilet facilities were—it was clear that the owners take great care of the place. Although it was a bit tricky to find at first, the owners were incredibly kind and helped us get in. We all had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back!

Well shaded and secluded with ample room for our get together. We had 4 trucks and 4 tents with plenty of room to spare! The stream running through was fun for kids of all ages!
