This land was homesteaded by my great grandparents in 1900 as part of the Homestead Act of 1862. After losing my store to fire in 2013, I took the leap, and decided to open the farm to the public. I have a menagerie of animals, many rescued or adopted, that love all the attention. My friends' kids love camping in the pasture with the animals and when I saw an ad for Hipcamp, I thought maybe others would want the experience, too! Learn more about this land: Yoga with goats meets camping with alpacas! We offer camping in the small animal pasture of our family petting farm.  (We also offer campsites away from the critters if your not too sure about sharing your space with livestock!). The options are limitless!

Site 1 - Camping with the Critters

RV/tent site · Sleeps 10
Site 1 is my favorite for longer stays. It is within easy walking distance to the barn, handicapped outhouse and hand wash station. It is located in the "small animal" pasture so expect some nosey neighbors...goats, sheep, alpaca and even llamas may come to say "hi".

Site 2 - Camping with the Critters

RV/tent site · Sleeps 10
Site 2 is better located for folks coming in late, leaving early, or with a larger camper or RV. There is more room for maneuvering and easy in, easy out access. This site is also located in our "small animal" pasture, so goats, sheep, alpaca and llamas will likely stop by to say "hello"

Site 3 - Camping with the Critters

Site 3 is our most remote site and takes some coordination prior to your visit. This site is ideal if you are looking for more privacy. All our campsites have a fire ring and firewood available.

Grainery Loft!

Barn · Sleeps 3 · 1 bedroom · 2 beds
This "glamping" space is above the old barn/grainery building. This building is over 100 years old and has been a real labor of love. Great grandpa built this building and I have spent my life wanting to save it! There is a private outhouse for glamping guests, a small kitchenette, fireplace, queen size bed, a twin pullout bed and deck. There is NO pressurized water (ie no shower, sink or flush toilet) but there is a water cooler for your convenience. To keep the rustic feel the walls are all the original rough cut lumber and the floor has stayed original as well. (We recommend slippers.) The site isn't completely ready yet so give a call if interested! 218-780-8611

Camping at Lois's Farm offers a unique blend of tranquility and animal interaction, making it a family favorite. The site is often praised for its welcoming host, Lois, and the chance to mingle with a variety of farm animals, from goats to llamas. While most visitors rave about the experience, some have noted the unexpected presence of goats at mealtime, suggesting a need for careful food management. Overall, the farm is celebrated for its spacious grounds, clean facilities, and the joy it brings to children and adults alike, despite the occasional noise from nearby trains.
