This is such a beautiful spot with the most gracious host. We loved taking the tour with Dan and taking time to get to know him a little bit. The sounds of the creek and the reflection of the moon was very relaxing. Star gazing was a plus! We really enjoyed fishing right on the creek, we caught lots of trout! Dan even showed us some other fishing spots around town that we checked out. We were really looking for a spot with some sort of water feature, since it was such a hot weekend, so that our dog could roam in the creek to cool down. The creek was perfect for this! We even brought a floaty and sat in the river for a while! Depending on which side of the creek you camp on, you may have to drive through it. But it wasn’t more than 1.5 feet deep. I’m sure Dan would help get you across if you needed. We forgot our fishing supplies so Dan recommended the bait shop in town. They were so friendly and accommodating to us. We were pleasantly surprised with our stay and would love to go back in the future!

Stayed for one night passing through. Stayed next to the barn and had electricity, all I required. Dan was there when I arrived and helped me get settled. Charming and peaceful farm. I will be back.

If you're looking for a peaceful, authentic farm stay, Valley Angus Farms is a fantastic choice! The views are absolutely beautiful — rolling hills, a small creek running through the property, and if you're up early, you might even catch sight of eagles fishing in the morning. Truly a special, serene place.
It's important to remember this is a working cattle farm, so you should expect the sights and smells that come with that — but it just adds to the charm and authenticity of the experience.
We stayed in the bunkhouse, which was perfect! It had everything we needed: a comfortable bed, a couch, stove, sinks, a handicap-accessible bathroom (which was incredibly helpful), plus a washer and dryer. Since we were traveling in just a van, it was wonderful to have access to all these amenities. Our original plan was to stay in the RV, but after Jamie fell asleep on the couch, we happily ended up staying inside.
Dan was out of town during our visit and had missed the part where we had ordered burgers for the evening. He kindly offered a refund or some hamburger meat instead — we gladly took the fresh beef! Gingie, who met us on arrival, was so sweet and accommodating. Since our setup was small, she let us park the van under a covering, which was an extra kindness we truly appreciated.
There are three large farm dogs who are very friendly — and they even got along great with our little Chihuahua, Biscuit. Overall, we had a wonderful, peaceful experience and will definitely stay again.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our time on Dan Miller's farm. The views were incredible and it was fun spending time in the little town. They have lots of cows, chickens, dogs, and kittens :) The bathroom facilities are really nice and super clean too. Dan and his wife are so nice and were a pleasure to meet and talk to. We brought our camper and camped hear one of the buildings so we had a power hook up and water hook up. We walked the property looked at the cattle and played with their dog Naomi. It was peaceful and relaxing. Exactly what we needed. We also had an Angus burger which was delicious.
We will definately go back to this beautiful farm.

Host was very friendly.
Arrived at designated 3 pm check in time, only to experience 80 minute wait for Host arrival (working in field) . Did not have designated camp sites within cattle pasture. Porta potty was located back at farm next to barn which meant my son and I would have to drive ~1/2 mile distance from our selected location including crossing ~30 ft. Spring fed stream to use ( did not happen). We will not return.

Overall it was a good experience, although not quite as advertised. The site was nice enough, just not what is pictured and be aware there are not showers or water right at the site. The meal option just included burgers and no sides. Communication could be improved, but the host was nice and very accommodating once we were there.

Dan was a great host and very friendly and accommodating. We chose a site along a small stream, which I think is preferred by many of the campers. Unfortunately there was no shade at this site so it would be hot in the summer if you were staying multiple days. The site is also close to a road (above the bluff) so there was some road noise. While the site was pretty and idyllic next to the stream, it wasn’t very private as it’s next to a field, in view of the main farm.
Also, you’ll need to be prepared to wade across the (wide) stream to get to the Porta-potty and have a car that you’re comfortable driving across the shallow stream to access the site.
Overall, it was a fun place for 1-night but lacked privacy and shade.

Dan was so welcoming. He gave us a tour of the land on his ATV and let us pick our campsite. The campsite along the river was peaceful and quiet. The stream has trout and there are cattle on the property (fenced). We had a great time on his land.

We loved the seclusion and solitude. We drove our T@B Boondock to a prairie spot by a bend in the creek and spent the weekend trout fishing in the creek right outside our camp. Fires at night, and trails for biking and hiking made it a fantastic, quiet, simple, rustic time. Refreshing and energizing! You can try the fresh spring in the creek too.

Dan was a very nice and welcoming host, responded when we had question and the land was beautiful. During the day you can enjoy all the scenery
And the water. And at night you can enjoy all the sounds of wildlife walking around and just take in nature, the view of the night sky was amazing! Will be visiting again! Thanks Dan!!

Oh my goodness! My daughter and I had such a wonderful time! We had the perfect mix of enjoying local sights and shops, and totally relaxing on the farm! We enjoyed the grilled hamburger meal on Saturday night, along with other guests and had a wonderful time. Thanx so much, Dan!!

Nice camping by the creek provided the weather holds up. If you can, it helps a lot to bring your own Porta potty and shower tent. Bathroom at Dan's house is abt 3 minutes of walking like it says on the listing from the camping spot by the creek. Dan was also willing to work with us to let us camp at other spots on his property.

A (beautiful) Working Organic Farm

Based on some other comments, people need to understand this is an actual working (beef & crops) farm!
We have a 30ft Airstream that we backed up to a spot by one of his barns and had access to 30amp power and water. We are flexible campers/visitors/guests and so when it was apparent that the flies would be an issue (it IS an organic farm after all) we decided to make this a touring trip. We visited the quaint little town, did a tour of Mystery Cave, visited Historic Forestville.
Dan and his family run the farm and he was helpful, responsive and sweet. They are new to this type of hosting, but learning quickly.
If you are a boondocker or tent camper, there are many available options for you, work directly with Dan to find something to meet your needs.
Since we were at one of the only spots available for a rig our size, we were opposite 'The Girls' (females w/calves) and in front of 'The Boys' (the bulls).
The river runs right through his property you can fish.
We woke up to the lowing of cattle (very peaceful) and birds, and capped off the evening walking some of the property that was filled with tens of thousands of fireflies. (did i mention organic? so no pesticides?)
Dan offered access to a handicapped bathroom/shower & BBQ grill at his house, which we did not need as we are self-contained.
This property was picturesque, serene, quiet, and peaceful. The stars at night are HUGE at night.

This is a great farm close to a lot of the area’s attractions, state parks, bike trails, historic towns, tubing… Dan is a super kind host, making sure guests have all you need. We spent 3 nights with our tent, 2 of which in a beautiful spot right on the creek. The third night we wanted to move our tent due to high winds down by the creek and Dan was very accommodating. We moved our tent into a barn and that worked out very well. It was cozy and the kids loved playing on the hay. Dan let us borrow a little cart to cruise around the farm and took the time to make great angus burgers for everyone staying at the farm. He has many terrific tent spots to choose from, he also has a little cabin in a field, rents out several rooms in the farmhouse, you can sleep in the barn on the hay, and can accommodate RVs. Guests use the facilities in the farmhouse. It is a working farm and so a genuine spot for a little get away out in nature.

listed as full hookup camping. there is no sewer at any site. the electric requires a converter to your rv cord; as a standard 110V outlet is what is at each site. it may help to call this farm house/farm yard camping. you are not at a campsite in a woods or in a meadow. you are in a farm yard where people are living in the nearby home...the lady who rents the farm house where we did camp for one night did not have any idea that her landlord has started a camping business with the campsite basically in her yard. I think this is a new start up camping business. the web site needs to be updated and corrected. so that people do get a much more accurate idea of what they are signing up for and paying for... as in to start; water and electric only at each site. electric is not a standard RV outlet box. with some improvements this may work out well for future campers who know that they will be camping in someone's farm yard.

This is a gorgeous place on a well maintained working cattle ranch/farm. Dan is kind and accommodating. There is a trout stream running through the property and a nice biking/walking trail that goes into town. I wish I could have stayed longer than one night and I hope my travels take me back there again.
