Temple is a small village in the western mountains of Maine, surrounded by other small towns and communities that are charming, hospitable, and each pretty damned interesting. Wildflower Farm is a five-acre property set among a mix of forest and small fields. We offer trees, fresh air, a vegetable garden, seasonal berries, and plenty of quiet. So much quiet, your ears will think they have died and gone to heaven. Your water comes from the well, and you pump it yourself. There is a recharging station for electronics, and while phone reception is very good, no Wi-Fi is available.Temple is a small village in the western mountains of Maine, surrounded by other small towns, communities that are charming, hospitable and each pretty damned interesting. Wildflower Farm is a five acre property set in a mix of forest and small fields. (The listing says "prairie but that's a gross exaggeration.) Nearby (within 10 miles) are lakes to play in, mountains to hike, streams to fish, rocks to climb. Forays into nature are interspersed with local festivals, concerts and other events culminating with the Franklin County Fair during the third week of September. Adjacent to the camp ground are endless miles of forested trails for biking, hiking, 4-wheelers, and horseback riding. Fishing is available in Temple Stream and Varnum Pond. Swimming, boating, sightseeing are available in the surrounding communities nearly all year long. We would be happy to let you know what is happening locally as you plan your stay. Well managed dogs and horses are welcome although at present there is no shed for horses. Camp sites are "dry" and without electric. There is a communal outhouse for use by campers. Dogs and horses must have proof of rabies immunizations. We are a new campsite this year and the Google map depicting this property is five years old, taken late in a hot, dry summer. There have been lots of changes since then, and a lot more green. We are excited to step into this new role and greet our new visitors. We have 3 camp sites, one with an 8x8 tent platform. Camper vans and pop-up campers can be accommodated and provided with power and water for $40 per night for 2 campers. No campers/vans longer than 20'; you will have a hard time getting in and a worse time getting out. Hot showers are available at the house for a fee of $8.00
